The New Otani Hotel is one of Osaka's expensive hotels, located in the business district. The lobby is beautiful, and the staff is very friendly. When you check in, you will be shown to your room by one of the staff members. I had a single room with a spectacular view of Osaka Castle. If you stay here, it is worth it to get a room on the side of the castle. It's especially nice lit up at night!
The room itself felt a bit ordinary to me, considering the price. I don't know what I was expecting exactly, but I know that I could have stayed in a hotel that was 1/4 the price that would not have been much different. Nevertheless, the bed and pillows were comfortable and it was a pleasant stay.
The doors are always open, so you can come and go freely at any time.
Unique Quality: I think what made this hotel stand out to me was the friendliness of the staff. Those that I had spoken to had great English so they are clearly used to foreign guests, and they all made their best efforts to be helpful, not that I asked much, but whatever I did ask was always answered kindly. I imagine someone with more questions or wanting advice on places to go could get a lot of information out of them.
Unique Quality: New Otani Hotel Osaka is the only five star hotel located directly across from the Osaka Castle and Park. The hotel is a member of 'Leading Hotels of the World' and consistently ranks as one of the top 100 hotels in the world by business travelers. Boasting a four story atrium lobby, spacious grounds and million dollar views of the Castle by day or night, the hotel is a beautiful sight. With both subways and JR train lines at its doorstep, the business, financial, entertainment and convention centres are only minutes away. An extensive array of 15 restaurants offering both domestic and international cuisine, offer something for everyone. New Otani Hotel Osaka also has extensive international meeting/conference facilities for up to 3,000 people; and a Fitness Centre offering state-of-the-art facilities for exercise, relaxation and massage.
Very friendly and kind personel! I wont ever forget the morning we were leaving by bus to the railroad station and there were about 5-7 hotel's people out of hotel's building wishing us. Hotel is also new and modern, nice design! The only disadvantage is that hotel is a bit away from the centre of Osaka
