guess what COMES w/ the airport
when I got off da PLane I just "walked" over 2 the 2nd floor ramp which opens up 2 the train station serving downtown Osaka then over onto the HoteL..in 3 minutes !
perhaps because the hoteL is NOT located in the middle of space-conscious downtown the rooms were ample for 2 ppl. WITH Internet connection ports !
Unique Quality: mind U this IS a DeLuxe hoteL so the best deal is 2 have a over-night voucher thru Ur connecting flight if not still price is somewhat lower than its downtown conterparts .
beware because this IS a flight connection hub the breakfast area lines up in the morning so go mucho early if U want 2 use that meaL coupon .
Opinion of Price: more expensive than average

Good, Modern Airport Hotel
Nice big (for Japan) rooms in a very modern hotel.
Straightforward check-inn, although one time I stayed there they gave me and my colleagues different rates, despite all being booked at the same time by the same company.
Unique Quality: Very easy to get to from the airport - a 2 minute stroll. Also, train connections from the airport can get you to Osaka city in 40 minutes.

Kansai
Like many things in Japan ... rather expensive.
Unique Quality: Only a few minutes walk from the airport. The bar gives a nice view over the island.

Hotel Nikko-Kansei
Unique Quality: It was comfy and nice, probably Gatwick Hilton type of prices, more suited to executives than travellers, but since it was free as a part of the flight, others might receive the same deal and wonder what the hotel is like. Lots of facilities, (laundries, massages, gyms) were available but were at an extra cost for most things. Err, it had a radio in the bath/shower so that you could listen to anime cartoons playing on TV whilst in the shower. The toilet was not the technical miracle I have come to expect of Japan, providing no analytical facilities whatsoever, but it did flush by itself, cool.
And there was a remarkable kettle in the room which had a button which when pressed would turn it from a kettle into a chilled water maker....?!
I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but I think it was the hotel restaurant in Hotel Nikko, Kansai airport. If you're staying overnight, make sure you get up early enough to sample all the goddies at the magnificent buffet. It offers the usual things you would find at any good hotel breakfast buffet -- Continental and full breakfast options. When we stayed there (in mid-1999) I think the hotel was newly built. So the hotel and its restaurant were both great at the time -- not sure what they're like now. They have the yummiest little sausages in the world, so be sure to try them!
Our breakfast was included in our flight package (as was the stay at Hotel Nikko), so not sure how expensive it was. Probably about average for any similar hotel anywhere in the world.

Nankai Dentetsu is used from Kansai Airport to Namba, and then Subway Midosuji line is taken from Namba to Sinsaibashi.
