Wearing Kimono

The photo was taken in front of the Osaka Castle. You can have a photo shot of yourself in a Kimono without actually wearing it, and it is free. Presenting two of the Kimono styles for Men & Women. It was a tradition to wear a Kimono on those days. Nowadays, it is worn on special occasions only.
Men's Kimono are usually designed with blue, black, grey or brown background and with motif of a dragon, or bamboo canes, or geometric patterns.
Women's kimono is worn based on the person's age and marital status. Young and single women wear long sleeves with colourful patterns. Married and older women wear a more simple design.

The area has many shops and restaurants. Some cheap, some expensive, some just downright weird.
A good place to go to when the weather is nasty, as everything is covered for blocks.
Great place to buy souvenirs if you need to buy something for people at home.

If you like Indian food then look no further. Hayato is authentic Indian...something not so easy to find in Japan. One of the reasons is because the chef, Netra, is from India. The prices are way below what you normally see around the Kansai area and the portions are beyond Japanese size. The A Set is what I normally order for lunch, but B Set is also very good and so is the Curry Plate. Lunches are under US$10 and under US$20 for dinner. Dinner menus usually include a drink and you can find coupons on my website that include a beer and a discount.
Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is deep-rooted in the minds of citizens of Osaka as the symbol of Osaka. 400 years have passed since the foundation of Osaka Castle by Hideyoshi Toyotomi. The existing Osaka Castle, however, was reconstructed by the Tokugawa Shogunate. There remains no single piece of stone wall from the Toyotomi period.

America Mura (american village) is a small district west of the Mido-suji and south of the Suomachi-suji. In this district you will find the american shops and most of all the teenagers trying to look american. On weekends it is very busy on the streets of America Mura. It is all about being seen in the most trendy place.....
The centre is the triangle park Sankaku Koen, all made of concrete.
