The good and bad of Hotel Sunroute Umeda, Osaka
I had a lovely 5 night stay and by booking on the internet was able to save money. I would recommend this to anyone but please read below also. The website listed below is a good comparison for all hotels in Osaka and you can also book through here at a hotel of your choice. If you want to be close to almost everything in Osaka then this is a very reasonably priced hotel. It's easy to book online and also to find on a map. My stay here was quite enjoyable with some very friendly staff even if their English was not great. My Japanese is not good at all but we still managed to understand each other with the help of a dictionary.
There is no internet access here though but it is only about a 15 minute walk to an internet cafe.
There is also a fire engine / ambulance centre opposite the hotel so if you don't like the noise of sirens you may be better off finding somewhere else to stay. I didn't find the sirens annoying but thought it was worth mentioning.
There is also no laundry facilities but I don't know if this is common or not in Japan hotels.
Overall it was 15 minutes walk to Osaka station and from there you could find your way to anywhere. It is about 20 minutes walk to the longest shopping street in Japan, Temma but remember nothing there opens till 10am.
Remember to ask for a non smoking room if required.
