Our hotel in Osaka was very centrally located, about five minutes' walk from the main Osaka station and near some little streets with bars, restaurants and small shops. We had a room on the top (17th) floor with great view of some of Osaka's skyscrapers - particularly good at night. The room was small (as is usual in Japan) but comfortable, with everything we needed. Two large twin beds, a sofa, small desk and large TV were all neatly fitted into the space, while the bathroom had a good shower over a 3/4 size tub. A good range of toiletries, hair dryer and sundries were provided, as well as light dressing gowns and slippers. There is free wifi and a LAN connection in each room, and the hotel has a coin laundry should you need it.
If you pay the extra 1,050¥ for breakfast you'll be given a voucher to exchange. Breakfast is served in the Italian restaurant off the lobby. There's a reasonably extensive buffet with a mix of Western (croissants, yoghurt, sausage, scrambled eggs) and Japanese (miso soup, pickles, fish) items, plus Italian style coffee from a machine (decent espresso).
Next tip: the Osaka subway system
Unique Quality: The huge picture window meant lots of light during the view and wonderful views at night. Our room was not at all overlooked so we could leave the blinds open and see the bright lights of Osaka from the comfort of our cosy bed!
Directions: Right by exit 7 of (check) subway station, or five minutes from Osaka station's South Gate - cross the road in front, walk slightly left and ahead, and you'll see the hotel on the opposite (left hand) side of the road
Business hotel with typical small, modular rooms.
Absolutelyu unremarkable other than the fact that you could barely swing a cat in the room.
Buffet breakfast was average Japanese faux-western. Who eats those chicken sausages???
