Nanoh Hatago: A Very Memorable Stay
My wife and I went on a short trip to the Izu Peninsula during our winter vacation a few years ago. We drove down and stayed in Izu Kogen at a fantastic pension called Nanoh Hatago. We stayed three nights and each night we had a wonderful dinner, wine, and conversation with the owners. The Japanese style baths felt great after a long day of sightseeing around the peninsula.
Tremendous service, gourmet dining (French and Japanese), Japanese baths (ofuro) three times a day, and the feeling like we were royalty. In fact the first two days we were the only guests and we truly felt like the lord and lady of the house.

The price for the pension seems high until you factor in the dinner and breakfast which are included. Definitely worth every yen.
