Great Service & Near the Airport
Whenever I "backpack" or travel to an international destination, I always make sure that my last night's stay will be a comfortable one. So, for my last night in Japan, I booked a room at the ANA Crowne Plaza Narita Hotel near the airport. It was just my luck too because I happened to book during their 72-hour sale and consequently got the room for only $45 - so cheap! And because I was a priority member, I was upgraded for free and offered a late check out option, which I took. While the rooms are smaller than it's American counterparts, the service is top-notch. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from the airport, as well as to and from the AEON mall (for last minute souvenir shopping) and downtown area (for sightseeing options in Narita City). My only complaint here is that the shuttle runs infrequently and if you've missed your ride, will have to wait a long while.
From the airport, I waited about 45 minutes and when I missed it going back from AEON mall, I was supposed to have waited two hours. But it being late already and raining, I decided to take a taxi back to the hotel. While I venture to guess that the hotel was only about three miles away, the cab fare cost me $20.
