More about Chisun Grand Akasaka Hotel

Yokosuka Port Visit

by asatorius

"Tokyo 1"

Prior to Margaux getting there, I stayed at the Chisun Grand Akasaka at the Akasaka Station. Nice Hotel with modern amenities, but very small. Visited Rippongi and Tokyo tower.

"Tokyo 2"

Toured Tokyo with Margaux, Brian, and Erin for 3 days. Stayed at the Dai-Ichi Hotel near the Shimbashi Station. Very nice hotel with large western rooms. Visited Ginza the first night and had a Japanese dinner and then had a drink at a fake English Pub. The second day we toured the Tokyo fish market, Imperial Palace, Gardens near Tokyo Dome, had Chinese for lunch, then went shopping in Ginza (too expensive). Margaux and I had Kaiseki (Japanese Haute Cuisine) with eight courses: Sea Snail and nigiri and Broccoli Rabe, Tuna and a whitefish sashimi, fatty whitefish sashimi with gold flakes and lime sauce, Fish Ball Stew, Miso soup with sea monster, Some fish flash fried, baby eels in vinegar, and soba. All in all it was pretty disgusting, so then we went and got some cake from a small baker. Then we went out to the 300Yen bar and had a Love Cocktail (gelatin based). Then we went to the Sapporo Bieru Garden where Brian and I had 64oz Beers!! Third Day we went to the Meiji Shrine near Harajuku, then toured the High End shops in the area. Had lunch at a Mexican Restaurant (Ole'!). Then we checked out and headed to Yokosuka.

"Yokosuka"

We went to the Submarine Sanctuary Party and did some Karaoke. I had duty, then I came out and had Korean BBQ with Margaux and some Dessert Crepes. The next day, we went to Kamakura and saw the big buddha, took a 2.5 hour hike to see some shrines, got lost, and then finished with a big Buddhist Temple. Alot of people were there having picnics and watching the cherry blossoms. Got some lunch at a vegetarian Japanese place (it was OK).
