Hama Rikyu Garden
by cuitutu322
Is it possible to take a ferry (water bus) from Hama Rikyu Garden to Asakusa?
Re: Hama Rikyu Garden
by dru46
Yes. You have to go via Hinode Pier though. Board at Hamrikyu and the bus makes a stop at Hinode before going back past Hamarikyu to Asakusa.

"The Sumida River Water Bus stops at the garden on its way to or from Asakusa. The trip via Water Bus from Hamarikyu to Asakusa takes about 35 minutes and costs 620 yen."

Travel Tips for Tokyo
Wear nice clothes in Japan
by Kai_desu
Stay cool, hip and modern. You don't want to look like a plain tourist or a backpacker in Japan. You'll feel out of place and cannot enjoy your trip. Dress well and luxuriously and you'll be part of the community. Japanese dress well and expensively. You've been warned!
Kaminarimon Gate, Asakusa.
by worldkiwi
The Kaminarimon Gate, with it's huge hanging lantern, sits at the southern end of Nakamise, the shopping street leading to the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa. I am told that it is traditional for parents to bring their daughters here on Girls' Day.
Stroll around at night.
by GenkiMac
This photo is from Odaiba where there are many restaurants situated with the view of the bay in mind- it's a very romantic place to be if you are with a partner! But anywhere from the bay to the entertainment districts are worth seeing by night - the lights and neon are fantastic!
Gathering, Imperial Palace
by vigi
Surprisingly, there are more local Japanese tourist than foreigners walking in the Imperial Palace. Many of the are retired old age tourists, bringing alone their food & drinks, sitting underneath big plum trees, what a relaxed retirement life. This reminded me of Parks in London.
Tipping in Japan
by Bunsch
It is not done to tip wait staff, taxi drivers, or service workers in hotels. Consider it a mild compensation for the traveler who is shell-shocked over the high cost of food, transportation, and housing!
