IvanRamen

by timewaster

I would like to try a famous ramen place like IvanRamen.
How bad are the lines?
If I go there on a weekday at 3 PM, will there still be a line?

Re: IvanRamen

by Bilimari

I think so, though it shouldn't be too long.
Anyway, their version of ramen are really not "ramen", are they? I guess it's personal preferences.

Hi,

Although I live in Tokyo, I didn't know Ivan Ramen :D
I checked the website and it is located in Rokakoen station.
RokaKoen is on the Keio-Line from Shinjuku, and it takes about 15 mins.
Don't worry, there are many lines until midnight back to Shinjuku.

You can check timetable for train in the below website:

Travel Tips for Tokyo

Get a mobile phone at the airport

by donpaul77

If you are traveling with others, it is a good idea to rent a couple of mobile phones. You can do this right at the airport, and you return the phone there as well. There are several plans to choose from, which are all described in English. I was traveling with two other people, and having the phones was very helpful in getting organized and getting in touch when we got separated (intentionally or not).

Japan has it's own mobile technology, so your American or European phone won't work there (unless you have some sort of uber phone).

You must see all the museums...

by leonnox

You must see all the museums in Tokyo traditional , modern, and of western art . the emperor's palace .....Ginza , Shibuya ....all the parts inside Tokyo ..if you like to walk it's still the best way to visit it ;) people from Japan are the kindest ( together Korean ) people in the world ....you can ask them everything ( most of the times addresses) and they will try to help you as they can and more ;)

Tokyo Tip

by gotlostagain

When I got out of the subway, it was raining and nighttime when I was searching for my hotel. I was soaked and tired and lost. A kindhearted stranger whom I asked directions from gave me his umbrella so I could continue on with my search a little less wet. After circling the area I eventually found my hotel.

Omote Sando

This street is originally the main approach to MEIJI JINGU.

Now it's considered as the fashion street behind HARAJUKU. A nice street for taking a walk, resting in some coffee shops, watching people go by.

Visiting Japanese Shrine(Purification through)

by dennisKL

Before you entering a shrine in Japan, you must get yourself clean before doing the prayer. Refer to my cutie face picture you will know what should you do before you entering. You can find this on every entry of the shrine....is a Japanese culture. Found near the entrance, the water of these fountains is used for purification. You are supposed to clean your hands and mouth before approaching the main hall.
