Great value for the East Yamanote

My current favorite hotel in Tokyo. I've had the pleasure of three visits so far. There is no better balance of value for cost out there. If the location suits your needs, then you must stay here. Truly one of the most comfortable beds I have slept in, in a hotel. Great selection of linens and toiletries. Attention to such seemingly minor, but important details are found throughout.

Unique Quality: Concern with detail throughout, from the service, to the lighting and furniture.

Value for Money in Tokyo!

This hotel was excellent an a great choice for us considering most hotels in Tokyo were just too expensive for us.It is a 4 star hotel however i believe it should be considered for a 5 star. Staff spoke great English. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice - we were lucky that it was included in the room rate otherwise it is too expensive. You have a choice of a Japanese style or western style breakfast. We took the Japanese breakfast one morning and it was beautiful. The only reason we took the western style breakfast every other morning was because of the coffee! Japanese breakfast, you had to pay for the coffee.

The hotel is very modern and unlike most modern hotels, it felt with warm and cosy.

The room itself wasn't as small as i thought! We were located on the train side but never heard the trains! We paid 200.00 aussie per night for this hotel and the service and room was definitely worth the money!

Unique Quality: There were so many great things about this hotel which included:

24 hour family mart downstairs.....that also sells wine, beer and mixed spirits.
the hotel starts from the 25th hotel so you are guaranteed a high view!
Heated toilet seat
huge range of toiletries!
Japanese style breakfast
2 stations within walking distance - jr and the metro
located in the futuristic Shiodome area....fine dining restaurants are plentiful
Mt Fuji can be seen from the lobby

Being so close to the Shimbashi station meant that we were 5 mins away from Tokyo station. Nearly all destinations are accessible from Tokyo station.

Wonderful people

I had a great experience at the Hotel, the interior and exterior design is striking, and the people at the Hotel is wonderful kindly. I also had a great food experience at the restaurant inside. The business office is free and useful with updated computer and fast Internet connection. Some times there are wonderful events in the lobby with cool live concert.

Unique Quality: The People there are outstanding!

Best place to stay

I have to say that choosing hotel in tokyo it's not that easy. The more does not means best choice. I strongly recommend this hotel although you could think this is a Ginza area. BUT after 6pm is so peace and quite. Access to Shimbasji station is a 5 minutes. Inside Shiodome Center is "Caretta" where you can eat the best japanese foood and try also bulgarian italian. Via de France - bakery kind connect you to Europe - this was our choice to eat breakfest outside hotel to safe 2300 YEN per one person. We spend DAILY for 2 persons 1900 YEN max including 2 sandwiches two cakes and 2 tea. Do not you think ? Great solution ! Definitely must try Tully's !!! this is better version of american Starbucks. Hotel worth its price,..really.
B2F floor this is a paradise for food !

Park Hotel Tokyo stands at the 25th floor of the "Shiodome Media Tower" at the corner of Media City Shiodome, the new center of business and culture. Park Hotel Tokyo is directly connected to Shiodome Station on the Toei Oedo subway line and Tokyo Waterfront New Transit Yurikamome, and is a short walk from the Shimbashi Station on the JR and subway lines.

Unique Quality: Great view, Ask for room on the same side as reception. We got a room on the 31th floor with tokyo tower view. Great concierge, staff lightly speaking english...but as at every hotel in japan warm toilet!!! ;-) If you forget your toothbrush you can find out at your bathroom.
Rooms are tiny...baths also -but who will spend more time in room than absolutely needed in tokyo ?

Elegant, Quite, and contemporary Hotel In Tokyo

We've been fortunate to have the Park Hotel as our first "residence" In Tokyo, and it's been an extremely pleasant start.
The Staff will go out of it's way to make you feel comfortable and familiar with Tokyo, the area in general, or any other information you need.
The rooms are similar in size to other Japanese hotel (Small!), but are designed in a very clean and elegant manner.
The Hotel is between the 25th and 32nd floors of the Shiodome Media Tower in the Shiodome area.
There's in room high speed internet, and the shower again...small, but clean and nice.
There's a contemporary lounge and sitting area, and the breakfast is small and simple.
The hotel is in a business area with many high risers on top of each there are several nice restaurants. There are several coffee shops in the vicinity, Tully's being one.
Highly recommended!!

Unique Quality: - Contemporary and Quite.
- Located near the New Transit Yurikamome JR line

'Designer' hotel and breakfast

I stayed here with my son for 7 nights. The staff, service and room were all very good. It is a very convenient location for a base for sight seeing as it is close to the metro and JR lines. It is also near to the Fish market and Ginza shops.
I would definately stay here again.

Unique Quality: Great views of Tokyo skyline and we even saw Mount Fuji on one day. Musical entertainment in the lobby/bar on most nights. Lovely breakfast but quite expensive if not in the price of your room.

Simple with a Hint of Sophistication

The Park Hotel Tokyo is located in Shiodome near popular attractions which include Tsukiji Fish Market and the shopping district of Ginza. These are within walking distance from the hotel. Subway stations in the vicinty of the hotel include Shinbashi, Shiodome, and Ginza so it's quite easy to get from one place to another. The hotel lobby is uniquely found on the 25th floor, which on a clear day, offers a gorgeous view of Tokyo Tower. The staff members were very pleasant, speak English quite well and are helpful in suggesting places to eat, or how to get to a particular place you'd like to visit via the train or by just walking. The rooms are somewhat small in comparison to American standards, but since most of our time was spent exploring the city, the size of the room was fine for us. We had triple accommodations--2 twin beds and a pullout sofa sleeper, which I slept on and was comfortable. The only negative thing was the smell of smoke upon entering the room for the first time, probably from the previous guest. Luckily there was an air filter in the room and within a few days it went away. Other than that this is a great hotel.

More about Park Hotel Tokyo

Understated and friendly design hotel

by TripAdvisor Member EnglandChris

We stayed at the Park Hotel Tokyo for a week in September 2005, in a double room with Tokyo Tower view on the 33rd floor. I had previously stayed at the Akasaka Prince, and we also dropped in on the Park Hyatt to see what it was like. By comparison the Park Hotel is a great example of how to be classy without resorting to grandiose-ness or overstatement. Major plus points: the hotel design and atmosphere, the staff and the location; negative points: small bedroom size, and the 1000 yen cover charge in the bar.

almost perfect stay

by A TripAdvisor Member

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Park Hotel Tokyo. This is a first class hotel, very intimate with very attentive and accomadating staff. Most all speak english very well. Location was convienent to the Shimbashi train station, where you can take trains to almost all parts of Tokyo, the JR Yamonte line was our train line as it took us to most major destinations in Tokyo. The Shiodame subway line was also right there. Hotel was also connected to the Carretta Shiodame shopping center where there was restaurants. Expect to do alot of walking as the train stations are big and if you get lost alot more walking. Hotel was in walking distance of Ginza also. The view from the lobby was of the Tokyo Tower, very beautiful, especially during sunset. The lobby seemed a little "stuffy" for our taste but if that's what you want. Arrival at the hotel could have been easier as there is no one from the hotel at the bottom of the building to great or help you with bags when you arrive, since the front desk is up on the 25th floor. All in all would stay here again and recommend it to others.

Park Hotel, Tokyo or other accom

by leanne_pearc

HI there,

Has anyone stayed at the Park Hotel in Tokyo or The Hyatt Century? or can recommend a good hotel?

Re: Park Hotel, Tokyo or other accom

Hello, I just got back from Tokyo. I stayed in Keio Plaza in Shinjuku which is in the same area of Century Hyatt and Park Hyatt. Please read my travel page for more details about the hotel. It really depends what you want to do, if you want to have a nice view, then by all means stay in either of these 3 hotels but I think Shibuya/Roppongi would be more exciting at night. There is another stylish hotel I had also considered, it's Claska in Meguro, a really posh district! Here's the link: http://www.claska.com/

BTW, you must go to New York Bar in Park Hyatt for the view, it's stunning!

Hi, The best hotel is precisely called Park Hyatt Tokyo Hotel in Shinjuku where the movie "Lost in Translation" was taken. I have not stayed in this hotel but my niece organized a wedding reception here. Its an expensive hotel but the service and atmosphere is the best. If you have seen this movie, you must have seen their restaurant, swimming pool and bed room. Good luck!
