OK ….

Terrible (1.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 17, 2014

I had unexpected last minute trip to Tokyo last week … and to my surprise many of the hotels in Central Tokyo were either sold out or extremely expensive ….such as $650 US a night. After some searching we found the Sunshine Prince Hotel in Ikebukuro … not exactly a central location but the transportation system in Tokyo is so good that it didn't matter much …

Be warned this hotel is extremely worn out … with a top to bottom renovation this place could command top $$$$$$ … the lobby is a cluster of people using the free wifi, tons of bags all over the place and a staff not really eager to help

Location … about a 10 minute walk from Ikebukuro train station on the east side, and located in the Sunshine city mall. The Narita Limo bus stops at the hotel but the Narita Express also can be caught from the Ikebukuro if not you can take a 5 minute train ride to Shinjuku station and catch the Narita express from there.

The room itself is typical non-western size room … otherwise SMALL and the bathroom tiny …

We were desperate for a room the day we were gonna be in Tokyo so we ended here … we paid $190 US dollars …. not cheap .. Tokyo is not cheap to begin with …. but this hotel is not worth this price.

I would not stay here again.
