Hotel near Tokyo Station
We will be in Tokyo for one night on September 21 before leaving for Kyoto on the shinkansen the next day. We'd like a hotel within walking distance of Tokyo Station, if possible, somewhere in the $100-$200 range. Any ideas? Lois and Jack

I really like the Tokyo Prince Hotel. You can find it on line. It is closer to Shimbashi, you can take a cab to \ from there to the Hotel. Not too far. It is a bit older but the location is great with a lot a space on the grounds and Zojoji Temple next door.
You can join the Prince Clubs International before you go and get a free breakfast.

For a cheaper alternative, try the Yaesu Terminal Hotel. It is 3 minutes from JR Tokyo on the east side of the station, just across the main street. Twin rooms cost around 15,000 Yen.
You may also elect to stay at Shinagawa instead of Tokyo since Shinkansen to Kyoto passes Shinagawa. The Prince Hotel is a good value there as well and it is also just across the street from the train station.

I will be in Tokyo in about 3 weeks. We are looking for a hotel (3 adults, 1 baby) that is near Tokyo Station and is reasonably priced. Any suggestions?

Hotels near Tokyo station are generally pricey. How about Villa Fontaine Nihonbashi? It is not a flash hotel but only 5 min by taxi from Tokyo station and near subway stations (Mitsukoshi-mae of Metro Ginza line, Nihonbashi station of Toei Asakusa line, Ningyocho station of Metro Hibiya line)

starting to panick
in 6 weeks in off to tokyo and ive still not been able to find any cheap hotels/hostels in the shibuya, roppongi districts. i want to stop here or if not a short distance away from here,so i dont need to catch taxi`s every night to go pout and hit the night life. if anyone can give me some hotel names and average prices i`d be very grateful.

there is also Ten Ten dormitory in shinjuku for 1300yen/day. so cheap!

wow.. i never realised cheap accommodation existed in tokyo. Thought there were just the $100 and up range or the capsule types. perhaps i can afford to come here after all! =)
