Worst Sports Bar in the world

Best and most expensive business Hotel to stay in Atyrau. However this is not saying much. This would probably rate a 4 star the others (Renko/Atyrau/Chagala) 3 star. Everything else desperate...There is virtually no competition in this city, no service mentality exists in Atyrau - they just don't care.

Unique Quality: It contains the worst sports bar in the world "Champions" (hidden on the 1st floor/2nd floor depending on where you come from) - 18 months to replace its South African sports channels it lost with one Indian channel for the Rugby World Cup some of which were shown in black and white and in silence! Food is average, drink is the most expensive in Atyrau but don't worry you have to figt to get service so you wont spend much, few of the staff give a toss. Rooms are OK, good gym, good cakes, free Wi Fi in the lobby - better sports coverage than the bar upstairs and you get to watch the Kazakh weddings come through the Hotel - frightened grooms and blissfully unaware brides escorted by traditionally dressed Kazakh girls.

Atyrau's Best Hotel Accommodation

Actually my trip started from Aktau, another thriving city in Western Kazakhstan, located at the shores of the Caspian Sea. There I stayed in Aktau Renaissance Hotel, which was a big surprise for me, as I didn't expect that such a hotel could be found in this part of the world. The Hotel is splendid, very modern looking with spacious and stylish, well equipped deluxe rooms. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was nice. The view to the Caspian Sea, that is just accross the street, is amazing and wonderful with the swans lazily sliding on the surface of the water and big tankers waiting for their turn to be filled in with oil in the nearby port.
Then after my short stay in Aktau I travelled to Atyrau, and great was my surprise, when I saw a very nice buildiing in the European part of Atyrau with very similar features with the Renaissance Hotel in Aktau. People said the the nice building that I saw is going to be the new Renaissance Hotel in Atyrau, which in many features will look like Renaissance Hotel in Aktau.

Unique Quality: The Renaissance Atyrau Hotel will be the first International chain hotel in Atyrau, also will have the highest quality in room product and the biggest meeting facilities ini the city. Its modern look with prevailing colors of dark blue and metallic makes it very prominant in the surroundings. It is just next to the Mangal Mosque and very close to the main business offices. It will have state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment for conferences. So it is a very nice place to spend a few days. When it is already open from mid of July it will give another reason to visit the thriving city of Atyrau.
