    A very friendly family who does everything to make your stay pleasant. The housewife Demira is there any time to help - she is the one to offer you tea, cook you breakfast and make hot water for the shower in the morning. And this is all for $6 a night!

    This picture was taken in a town called Naryn, but it is possible to sleep in a yurta nearly everywhere. It may not finish up being the most comfortable night that you've ever had, but keep in mind that yurta plays a very significant role in many Kyrgyz lives. Conclusion: if you want to get a feel of Kyrgyz life and culture, stay a night in a yurta!!

    I was so fascinated by those little 'houses' and once I started to ask questons about them, it came out that building a yurta, maintaining it and living there is like a whole world of itself. Very fascinating.

    A photo showing the tea drinking and breakfast room at Demira Guesthouse. Based on all the Kyrgyz homes I visited, this room looks very typical Kyrgyz - big decorative carpets on the walls, big eating tables in the middle of the room.

    If you are looking to stay in a good western style hotel, your only choice is Hyatt in Bishkek. You won't find any other similar standard hotels in Bishkek or anyplace outside of the capital. But I assume that noone will go to Kyrgyzstan to look for comfort and nice hotels, so never mind... :)

    Some of the most friendly staff I've ever seen and met in any hotel!!

    We stayed at Alma Ata hotel which is located at the bank of Issy-kul lake (at Bosteri village). It is beautiful and comfortable hotel with two swimming pools (inddor and outdoor), neat and clean private beach, disco clubs with live music by the kyrgyz singers etc.

    Yurt is the traditional home of nomadic Kyrgyz people, made of woolen felt. You can stay here overnight. You can hire yurts around Lssy-kul lake, son-kul, and many places and very reasonable price. It will be a life time experience.

    Feel like a nomad... and enjoy!

    the lovely hotel! The District where the Pinara is placed ,is best area in the city Bishkek. The water and the air is so clear!

    Do you know i can see the snow mountain from the veranda,. And the swimmingpool is so beautiful!

    • The owners do not speak English but the place is really clean, the rooms are big and the hotels is located in a quiet area, hot water always available, price around 400 SOM for a double.
    No breakfast included but 300 meters from the hotel there is the Instanbul Pastanesi Caf? with a delicious array of Turkish pastries, absolutely mouthwatering and huge!!! Excellent Black Tea..adress: Navoi Street near the big furniture shop

    I was only at the lake for a day trip, but we ate lunch at a rather faded resort that seemed to still be in operation, however half-heartedly. It was a little surreal.
