Narin Thachalern Hotel: Economical stay in center
Narin Thachalern Hotel does not appear to be anything special from the outside. And honestly speaking, it is nothing special from the inside either...
However, it was clean and economical. A double room was offered to us for 50,000 kip after a very short negotiation.
Unique Quality: The rooms had a private HOT water shower, small TV, free water bottle.
A/C rooms were available for more money, but a fan was more than adequate

Lao Chaleun(e) Hotel: Central
Single rooms are VERY small, barely enough space for a bed (cold water, fan, w/o TV or fridge) and the one they showed me was full of moskitos (I think it was about 70 000 Kip). So I decided for a double, which are much better value; with aircon & fan, hot water, TV and (filled) fridge, for 100 000 Kip. Nice Balcony.

THALUANG hotel: ... that one can be called guesthouse
That's hotel in Ban Thaluang, in the main central area with many budget guesthouses next to Sabaidee 2 GH. We stayed there few nights, once took AC and TV room for 100 000 KIP and another time we took fan room for 70 000 KIP which are usually always full, because many Thai tourists and businesspeople stays in the hotel. The 100 000 KIP rooms are spacious and have big bathrooms, but once we got one where AC leaked to the bed. These rooms have a refrigerator in room while cheaper ones doesn't have it and they're mostly in the ground floor. The cheaper are nicer, you can get into the room form the yard into some of them.
Unique Quality: big rooms, helpfull staff and they have car rental

Kingfisher Ecolodge: Live Ecologically
Service and food were great. Many employees had adequte Eglish. Owner is Italian and speaks several languages fluently. The lodge is designed with the ecollogy in mind. No TV or radio. Limited and expensive access to internet--about 10 cents per minute. Loads of peace and quiet. Get to see elephants close up and other domesticated animals from close distance. Lots of birds in the wetlands. Hiking trails in mainly flat land. Highly recommended for the ecology minded traveler. Bungalows with enclosed bathrooms rent for $48 per day in the high season; rooms with shared bath/solar heated shower rent for $16 in high season.
Unique Quality: Great views of the wetlands and the distant mountains. Opportunity to ride and learn to drive elephants. Local products used, and local handicreafts sold. Solar power used predominently. Nature abounds.

Clean and cheap
The hotel was relatively new, it was clean and a decent price (500 baht a night). Nothing fancy, the walls are plain but it does the job.

Lao chaloen Hotel: Lao chaloen Hotel
At first,I aimed to stayed in another hotel, but it was full. So i just cross the road and found this hotel. The hotel offers an ok and clean room but tiny. There 're a fridge,TV with cable,air-con and hot shower with the price 400 THB(I paid in Thai Bahts). Moreover, this hotel 's good in location ,coz it's in town where you can walk around and find restaurants easily.

Sabeidy 2: Ok place
Simple wooden rooms, pleasant although a little more expensive than other places in town (a double elsewhere is $4).
Get those damp clothes washed after a week or two of card/backgammon playing debauchery on Don Det
