It is a great place to chill out, being quiet and far from any road.. Several hill tribe villages are within walking distance of this guesthouse, and the guesthouse owners can give you much information. I walked to three villages, but found the language barrier rather frustrating. I also felt the presence of myself and four others was a little intrusive, arriving unannounced, and nosing round these people's village. I'd recommend not doing this, but instead find a guide in Muang Singh. These friendly guys will be able to answer all your questions and can speak hilltribe languages, so can introduce you and interpret for you, giving you a much richer and more intimate experience :) Also, the guides have an arrangement with the village they visit, no more than 6 tourists, and only one visit every two weeks. Part of the guides fee also goes towards a payment to the village chief.
