Mongkol is Lao style hotel at the edge of the city centre and has good service, clean and quiet rooms. We paid 250 000 KIP for a double room with AC including breakfast in 2009. It's about 10 min walk to Mekong restaurants. It seems to be more popular place with older guests. Near there's their restaurant but it's a bit pricey and I haven't seen many guests dining there: their food is delicious, though and there's a view to the Mekong and they play live music sometimes. The hotel has laundry service and internet room.
