Best accomodation is available in Pak Lay and Sainyabouly city and also Hongsa. Here you can find lots of guesthouses and a few hotels (in Sayabouly). Prices are per room and quailty may vary from place to place. It's good to know that guesthouses in those places are scattered around the town and it will take some time walking from one to another place when you want to compare them. See the rooms first - sometimes even the same building have better rooms for same price or a few KIP more. Generally speaking - you can get better rooms for little money than in Vientiane.

Outside before mentioned towns there's less accomodation available and it's normally very basic one. You can find a GH or two in the bigger village sometimes - strategically located for transiting passengers or workers in remoter areas.
