KP Guesthouse: ...near the market
That huge guesthouse dominates the center of Pak Lay area and it is hard to miss it: it's located at the top of the small hill behind the market, orange-red coloured and has many rooms. Each room has it's own balcony. We paid 70000 KIP for the cheapest (single room with big bed and bathroom with warm shower + TV), it's nothing special for that price and the sheets seemed to be changed long time ago. They weren't dirty, but they got smell from humidity. There's huge parking place in front of the guesthouse, no trees there... and place lacks atmosphere.

That's cheap guesthouse on the Mekong river bank which will provide you with good views if you take right rooms. If you take cheapest ones for 60 000 KIP in the first ground, you'll get a fan room, quite clean but dark and humid with hot shower in the private bathroom. Better option is to take upper rooms which have TV. GH is in the main street, close to the port and football field. Not bad if you'll walk most of time.
