3 Star Hotel in Taipa Island
by MiZgHee about Best Western Taipa
I could say hotel is just ordinary, nothing special except it's 5 mins away from Venetian Hotel =) It's located at the heart of Taipa Island (8mins away from the Ferry Terminal). Thanks to Holiday World Tours (where i'm currently working) we've been upgraded to a suite room. It can be occupied around 7-10 people in a room. Hotel is near bus stops and lots of restaurants, you just need to walk around. A shuttle bus runs between the hotel and the Macau Ferry Terminal.

Hotels - Best Western Taipa & Holiday INN
by drandy
Planning to go to Macau for a short break, what are the major attractions that I should not miss?
Am choosing between Best Western Taipa or Holiday Inn, which is a better choice?
Had read a lot of complaint re: Holiday Inn Macao on the website re: service and room, are they all true? Any other hotel anyone who has been there will recommend? How about Mandarin Oriental(one report I read on the internet said it's not worth the money you Pay), we are not going to the casino, just want a few days of relaxation and look around, enjoy some local food. Thanks in advance.

Anyone who knows Best Western Taipa Hotel? Is this accessible to public transpo? Would like to visit tourist spots on our own? What should we take when we visit these places?
1. Senado Square
2. Fishermans Wharf
3. Macau Tower
4. A-Ma temple
5. St Paul ruins
How about Kan Lam Ecuminical Center? What attractions can we see there?
Thanks for your help.

Hello there,
Macau isnt that big, you should certainly do some walks - Senado Square is the best starting point for an exploration walk through the lanes of colonial architecture. Walk north past St. Dominics Church to St.Pauls ruins and Monte Fort, or south past St. Augustine Church, Pedro V Theatre, St. Andrews Church to the hill of the Penha Church. For a longer walk continue all the way to the A-Ma Temple.
I dont think a guide really is necessary - but that is your personal taste.
Sorry, havent been on the tower and for the Fisherman´s Wharf - not sure if it was the harbour area Ive been to....
Happy travels!

HI!
As already mentioned by the previous VTer, Macao is quite compact and easy to get around. Grab a free tourist map @ the airport - the bus numbers are indicated.
Have a page on Macau if you care to take a look and see if the tips are any useful to yourself.

Hi! I just came back from Macau a few days ago. I stayed at Best Western. Transportation was a breeze. You can take a cab or if you are a bit more adventurous, you can ride the bus which would be far cheaper. Bus 33 takes you to Senado Square. From there, you can start walking to see the other sights like the St. Paul Ruins. Don't forget to stop by at Lemoncello for their wonderful gelato. Yum!
