Hotel Sintra: 3 stars in the city
by xuessium about Hotel Sintra
The most striking thing about this hotel: The curtains and the blankets have the SAME grandmotherly design. Ornate? Dated? Your call. The rooms are nonetheless comfortable if you are just looking for a good night of sleep. Comes with a TV (with very limited overseas satelite channels), bath tub & mini-fridge but no deposit safe. The corridor has a musty smell from both carpet and cigarette smoke and if you are really unlucky, you may have a room literally right next to the lift. There is a sauna on the 2F, which unfortunately, looked suspiciously seedy. Location. You are just 10-15 minutes walk from Senado Square, yet the hotel is located at a quiet spot away from the crowd. At first hand, it looked like the spot has no eateries - but walk across the road into the alleys and you will find delis, cafes and convenient stores.

I was kinda upset at first because they were supposed to pick me and my friend up at the airport but they didn't...well actually they did. They sent one bellboy over and I guess it must be him from the way he dressed but he didn't show any sign so I didn't know. I met one nice guide there who picked up a Thai group tour and he offered to drop us at the hotel. Once we got there, we told the receptionist about it so he upgraded our room :)
They have a great variety of breakfast, american, dim sum and some congee too.

Large and comfortable hotel in the centre of Macao. Huge room for us, everything we needed there and more.
Prices reasonable, recommended.

Hotel Sintra, Hotel Metropole and Hotel Royal - Which to choose?
by momowang
Hello,
Would like to know if any VT members stay in the above-mentioned hotels recently?
I read some mix reviews about these hotels and I'm not sure which to choose now. I'm ok with the location but would like to know in terms of room cleanliness and services, which one is the best? Also does these hotel provide shuttle bus from harbour to the hotel itself?
TQ very much!!

I stayed at Hotel Royal last August.Good and well establihed Hotel in Macau with excellent location. Try to get one of the renovated rooms on the top floors. They have been renovated recently and are good value for money. Check their website. Depending on the duration they have packages available as well as transportation by shuttle bus to the harbour.
Regards and enjoy!

HI!
Have stayed in Hotel Royal & Hotel Sintra and while both are alright and if location is not a big consideration, I will choose Hotel Royal for greater comfort.
Reviews of both hotels on my VT Macau page if you care to take a look and see if they're useful.
Markets / Factory Outlets?
by o0KelviN0o
Any markets in Macau which are similar to those in Hong Kong (Ladies Market, Fa Yuen Street, etc)?
Any factory outlets (Adidas, Nike, etc) in Macau too?
Kindly state directions if possible. I'm staying @ Hotel Sintra.
Thanks in advance :)
