Fourth Largest Hotel in the World
it is a third class budget hotel in the Genting Highlands Area and it has the larges shopping cum dining cum amusement park area in the Genting Highlands area. This huge hotel is the fourth largest hotel in the world by room counts at 6118 rooms (although the rooms especially the standard ones are really small hehehe) of which the Palazzo in Las Vegas is the largest hotel at present). First World Hotel is adjoined to the First World Plaza, which boasts 500,000 sq feet of indoor theme park, shopping centre and food galore (please see my separate tips on these establishments ok). First World remains one of the favourite hotel among holiday makers in Genting Highlands and this joint is Operated by Resorts World Genting which also owns the Upscale Hotel Genting Nearby.
Unique Quality: besides being the fourth largest hotel in the world (again the rooms are very small see my pictures but if you upgrade to a world club room then it will be bigger). The Tv has no remote so you have to operate is manually and is not connected to international TV channels. They have no air conditioning but only ceiling fans (but hey it is already cold here at 5,700 feet above sea level ok). Just nearby is the casino and the amusement park and the first world plaza.
a caveat: checking in here especially on a friday can really bew a hassle as we waited for 2 hours just to get 4 rooms for our group.

Crampy Ol Place
I was always reminded my colleagues to think positively. Think of challenges as opportunities. Well, this hotel gives me the opportunity to put positive thinking into play.
There are really three reasons why you should ever stay in this hotel:- 1. Your tour agency put you into this, 2. You are at Genting only for gambling, 3. Cost is a concern. Let me tackle this one at a time.
1. Tell your tour agency to allow you to move to another hotel if they are agreeable. The other hotels are not too costly in the first place.
2. Yes, this will be a good hotel for you.
3. Refer to point number 1.
So yes, this is a good hotel for those who are gambling all day and for those really living on bread and water.
Unique Quality: This three-star hotel is said to hold the distinct honour of having the most hotel rooms. Other than that, it's a plain jane and the furniture are pretty spartan in nature. The nicest thing about the hotel (and it's only so-so) is the vibrant colour seen on the exterior of the hotel. That speaks volume doesn't it? Avoid at all cost unless you want to experience what a caged animal feels like.

Good Accomodation for Value
Friend booked an overnight stay through a website (http://www.genting.com.my) at RM141 for a triple occupancy with free breakfast. Got to the hotel at 5 in the morning and was able to secure a number for the check-in because they said check-in was around 2pm (we were number 241 hehehe). Left our baggage at the baggage counter and went to the outdoor themepark after purchasing all-indoor-and-outdoor-theme-park-pass at RM51. By the time we got back at 245pm they were already serving ticket number 500+ but that's ok since there are 4 counters servicing those numbers that were called already. Got a room in about 15 minute tops. Room had a double bed and 2 single beds. Centralized airconditioning. TV (showing local channels). The bathroom was kinda weird. Bathroom and shower are separate from each other and the sink and mirror is outside the room. Doors for both bathroom and shower are translucent! Also, no space to change clothes when you're inside the shower. You have to go out of the shower to change clothes! :)

Genting's most crowded Hotel
Don't go for this Hotel unless you are too specific about $$. We reached Genting at around 2 pm and it took 2 hours for us to Check-In to our room though the check-in time is 2 pm. Being world's largest hotel (in terms of no. of rooms), the service is very poor. They had very limited staff for the huge number of people.
I really felt bad about booking in this Hotel. For the Check-in you should take a token and wait. For me they asked to come after 1 hr after getting the token. There were only 4 counters for 1000's of people. I'm not sure how it will be during off season. I went there on 22nd December.
Unique Quality: The Hotel is quite big and rooms are neat. Television was not working properly, otherwise it was good. The indoor theme park and outdoor theme park is just next to the hotel.

FIRST WORLD HOTEL
My family prefer staying here because of the indoor theme park and the mall / shopping center. The rooms (spec. rooms with view) here are better than those at the Theme Park Hotel.

All in One
A relatively affordable accommodation with alot of amenities and facilities. The hotel has a casino, mini indoor theme park, located just next to the outdoor theme park and has plenty of shopping and dining areas.
Rooms are clean, nice and can be freezing cold if it rains. So do remember to pack some warm clothing.
Basically, it has nearly everything a family needs in Genting. Do checkout their haunted house and Ripleys' Believe It or Not attraction in the shopping mall.
Unique Quality: A lush, grand tropical rainforest greets guests at the main entrance of the First World Hotel, followed by a spacious Spanish courtyard lobby.

Budget Hotel
1st night I stayed in the standard room which is small, with only a 2 single beds, 1 toilet and 1 shower room which is also SMALL, but of cos the price is cheap.
2nd night, stayed in the deluxe room. Its much more brighter and spacious. It also has 2 single beds, sofa, and bigger toilet. but the price is double of standard room. Breakfast included for 2. But food variety in First world... hmm.. can give it a missed.
Unique Quality: some rooms have windows but faced the wall, or another person room. Some rooms will be great views of Genting.

First World Hotel
This is the newest hotel at Genting Highlands with its own indoor theme park and shopping centre. In fact, it is supposed to be the world's largest hotel, which boasts 500,000 sq feet of indoor theme park, shopping centre and food galore. A lush, grand tropical rainforest greets guests at the main entrance of the First World Hotel, followed by a spacious Spanish courtyard lobby. All rooms are comfortably furnished with modern amenities. I did not stay at this hotel but would like to try it when I visit Genting Highlands again :)

Best hotel in store for us
Its a huge hotel having nearly 25 floors and 50 rooms on each floor with 10 lifts working, comfortable and fits in budget. The food is specially divided into Veg. and nonveg. section and the names to these sections are given as the INDIAN section and the MALYSIAn-FOREIGN section as the Indians are mostly Veggies.
Unique Quality: Cozy and comfortable rooms with 24 hrs room service, good Indian Spicy food and cheap.

Re: Reviews for First World hotel
Personally I don't find anything wrong with First World hotel. Just bear in mind that it's a "budget" cost hotel compare to the rest of hotels in Genting Highland. You will have fun :>
Re: Reviews for First World hotel
I stayed at the First World this time last year with my Husband and (at the time) 2 year old daughter, we stayed in the club room, it was absolutely fine, in fact much better than I expected, I had my mind set that it was not going to be up to our usual standard. The room size is more than adequate with a standard sized bathroom with tub and seperate shower. The photo on gentings own website of the club room is exactly how our room was. It was the most expensive room I could find for the time we was there at US$50 a night and we was pleasantly surprised that it also included breakfast in the club lounge (mainly Asian style).
Re: Reviews for First World hotel
The First World Hotel caters for different range of budget. Even the cheapest is OK, just smaller in size. Those rooms are for those who just want a short nap after the casino. For bigger room, it's the same as other good hotel. Don't worry.
