It offers one of the cheapest accomodation at Genting Highland. I remembered the price can go really low if they are having a promotion.
Unique Quality: The bathroom is very small and the bathroon door is translucent. If you are bring your kids there, you may have have to bring them out before you take your shower.
This hotel is quite nice & lies just by the Theme Park. There are 2 big towers so ya have to walk a bit inside the hotel :) Nice & clean rooms.
Directions: 69000 Genting Highlands, Pahang Darul Makmur, Malaysia
This hotel is the largest in Malaysia however the rooms are not.The rooms are tiny except for the World Club rooms.Having more than 6000 rooms upon completion, the lobby is inevitably crowded.Checking in takes more than half an hour during peak period.Worst of all the facilities in the hotel is inadequate. If you prefer a more luxurious stay, you may wish to stay at the World Club room.
Unique Quality: Good view and next to First World Plaza.
Directions: If you get to Genting by bus,you will be at the terminal and just have to walk up.
If you get there by the Genting Skyway, follow the signs all the way to First World Hotel. All the hotels in Genting are connected.
First World is a 3-star hotel. We arrived on a holiday weekend which was extremely busy. We had to wait for a long time before we could check-in. The lobby was so packed with people coming and going that it felt more like an airport terminal. The decor is cheap and the room was small and plain.
Unique Quality: The best thing about this place is it's indoor theme park which our daughter loved. It's amazing what they packed inside. There are rollercoasters, fun houses, water slides, and even a snow playland. For those that like to gamble, there's Malaysia's only casino.
Stayed here for 5 days 4 nights. The hotel have no personal service. They boast the biggest hotel but seriously go to the other hotel. They are so huge they cant manage the crowd.
Imagine this, we arrive there about 4 am because of the arrangement withe coach and we cant go in until about 1 pm. Can you believe that we actually have to take queue number and about 11/12 they start calling the numbers.
The kids was so tired but there was no choice but to sit and wait. The kids sleep on the uncomfortable seats. It was the beginning of the nightmare.
There are so many lifts but only a few working and its always full.
The room is so small. The only thing you have is the bed , a small tv, a small toilet with shower that goes suddenly hot if the room next door using or suddenly too cold.
You cant get service here, I tried. Anothe family I bumped into in the crowded, slow lift change hotel halfway thru their holiday.
I would love to do the same but we have already make full paymet to our tour agent in Singapore.
I am sorry but there is nothing good I can say about this place. Stay away as far away as you can!!!!
Malaysia's biggest hotel, First World Hotel, has opened its doors on December 15th, 2000.
Situated 51km from the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur, this hotel is the latest addition to five other hotels in Genting - City of Entertainment.
You will be amazed by the tastefully decorated surroundings as you step into the rainforest themed hotel lobby.
The rooms are small and not sound proof. They wanted you to get out of the rooms and go and gamble.
You pay for what u get:(
Unique Quality: *super thin walls
The first impression that this hotel gave me was that it resembles a bank rather than a hotel. Since it has many rooms and to avoid congestion and to maintain efficiency, the best way is to adopt a banking-style of check in at the reception desk. You would have to queue up at a desk to register yourself and get your service number. Then get yourself seated at the rows of chairs to wait for your number to be called upon by the many reception counters. During weekends or peak season, you might need to wait for your turn for more than one hour. It's a waste of time.
The lobby at a glance is always crowded with bustling tour groups and this hotel is now a favourite among the tour operators because of cheap room rates and availability of rooms.
Budget rooms are quite small with no view at all. If you don't mind the lack of space and amenities provided and just need a place for rest, then First World Hotel will suit your needs and budget. Electrical Jug, toothbrush, etc. are not provided.
Breakfast included lacks the variety and quality. It also looks like a big canteen for massive employees.
Unique Quality: The First World Hotel, the biggest in Asia Pacific, will be the world's biggest with the completion of the second tower in year 2005.
With so much to do and see, exploring Genting can take more than a day. Accommodation ranges from suites and family rooms to apartments and budget rooms - a total of over 7,000 rooms to suit all pockets and needs.
Standard rooms range from RM75 to RM165 while superior rooms range from RM85 to RM180.
The newest built hotel at Genting Highland. It has a lot of rooms offered to you with prices that are cheaper than other hotels surrounded.
Unique Quality: In front of the check-in and check-out countes, there's a nice, big hallway with birds chirping sound.
The best of this hotel is it has own shopping plaza, which consists restaurants, cafe, cloths and accessories stores. And, it has casino too.
It is the best choice for budget travel at here.

After reading diverse reviews about First World hotel, I am confused.I shall be going to genting in last week of April 2007 for 2 days and have booked a Deluxe view room at First World hotel..I shall be accompanied by my hubby and 3 year old son.I want to know if i havent made too bad a decision by booking First world room? please help.
Personally I don't find anything wrong with First World hotel. Just bear in mind that it's a "budget" cost hotel compare to the rest of hotels in Genting Highland. You will have fun :>
I stayed at the First World this time last year with my Husband and (at the time) 2 year old daughter, we stayed in the club room, it was absolutely fine, in fact much better than I expected, I had my mind set that it was not going to be up to our usual standard. The room size is more than adequate with a standard sized bathroom with tub and seperate shower. The photo on gentings own website of the club room is exactly how our room was. It was the most expensive room I could find for the time we was there at US$50 a night and we was pleasantly surprised that it also included breakfast in the club lounge (mainly Asian style).
The First World Hotel caters for different range of budget. Even the cheapest is OK, just smaller in size. Those rooms are for those who just want a short nap after the casino. For bigger room, it's the same as other good hotel. Don't worry.
