November is by norm the rainy time of year in Malaysia but with the global climate what it is, nothing is for sure so I wouldn't worry too much about that. Besides, it seldom rain the whole day.

Being near the equator, there are no extreme temperatures in Malaysia.

As for the theme park at Genting, for sure you'll be able to enjoy. There's a water park so no worries about rain there and an indoor theme park for you to enjoy whilst you wait for the rain to stop, if it rains.

Just came back from a trip to malaysia. Lankawi it does rain but not entire day, especilly during nights.

KL it doesnt and gentingit is completely uncertain. In case it does rain then outdoor theme park is closed but indoor is still operative. Further, if u r goin to gentin the theme parks would be open till 10.00 pm , so more time is available with u to enjoy.

Note: For genting don't forget to cary some warm clothes.

Travel Tips for Genting

Weekend at Genting

by rh_beads

The Genting Express ride from 1-Utama is the most convenient facility ever introduced by Genting. My last trip up to Genting was by car was almost 10 years ago - and I didnt really enjoy driving along the Karak Highway. Hence the introduction of the bus is real welcome. It is efficient, bus is clean and comfortable. Over the weekend of Jan 26-27 2008 it only took us 1 hour to get from 1-Utama to the lower Genting skyway cable car terminal. I love the weather. It was a cool weekend of Jan 26 to 27 2008. The winds were blowing and rather foggy. But twas a real good break from the hot, humid and dusty KL city. It was my first time at First World hotel, and I was told much earlier that the rooms were small. But honestly it was just sufficient. There's so many activities going on until 1am on Sat night, you will find you only need to go back to your room when ur feet sores from too much walking. There is a lot of walking involved but in the cold weather it is rather comfortable.

Expensive accomodation

by agc

Accomodation and food is very expensive up there in Genting. What I would suggest is that you book yourself a hotel/guesthouse in KL and take a bus to Genting. It is cheap and takes less than 2 hours. Buy snacks from KL and bring them up.

Genting Highlands through the years (part 1)

by victorwkf

I have been to Genting Highlands several times since I was young (about 10 years old) and have seen the tranformation and expansion of the place into a huge entertainment centre. Genting Highlands is perhaps my first travel out of Singapore as my family could not afford trips to destinations too far away from Singapore then. Genting Highlands has always been a favourite place for the locals as well as Singaporeans who went there mainly for the casino (for the adults) and the various games, rides, arcades (for the children). Genting Highlands always upgrade itself and expand and this is a very good move to attract repeated tourists back here as there is always something new coming up. Attached are some photos of Genting Highlands about 20 years ago when I visited during my younger days :)

Try your luck in the casino

by vincentf

Genting has a soothing climate unlike the hot and humid conditions in Kuala Lumpur. There is a large amusement park and casino built here.

You can take the 1-hour taxi ride from Kuala Lumpur for around RM45-60, pending on the taxi driver's mood.

...And then, AJ.
Don't ask me what AJ means, it could mean something vulgar !
He works at the bar...he knows so many crazy drinks like the back of his hand !
The photo shows me & AJ hanging...
