need a taxi to go up to Genting from KL Pyramid Tower hotel

by sebbes

My family will be in KL (Pyramid Towers hotel) on 26-12-10. I need a taxi to go up to Genting at abt 5 pm. (just an ordinary taxi)
How much is the taxi fare and how long will the journey be like?
(any good taxi company to suggest?)
I also will want to book a return trip from Genting to KL, on the same day at abt 10.30pm. Pls advise and e-mail.

Thanks :))

Re: need a taxi to go up to Genting from KL Pyramid Tower hotel

by din2x

You need to know that Pyramid Towers Hotel is not in KL, but Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

If you want the ordinary taxi, it cost more than the specified Genting Taxi. Ordinary taxi rate will be depends on your negotiation skills, because the city taxi can only take you to Genting, but cannot take any passanger on his/her return trips. excepts the drivers are willing to break the rules, and it's depends on the agreed prices.

The specified Genting taxi, however, will charge cheaper, but based on per person, instead of per trips. It is availabe at KL Sentral and few others location such as Bukit Jalil Temporary Terminals, Gombak LRT station, etc. But they can come to pick you up, if you call them to your hotel. Once in Genting, for your return trip, you can take any Genting Taxi which are available at designated taxi terminal in Genting.

How big is your bag? If it is too big, you'll need to check it/them in. Reproduced below are the info:

If you are boarding the Genting Skyway at Genting Skyway Gohtong Jaya Station, please check-in all baggage with size exceeding 56cm X 36cm X 23cm (22in X 14in X 9in) at the Baggage Handling Counter, Genting Skyway Complex (Level G).

You Should Be Early On Holidays

by maztek

Well I experienced waiting and standing in queue for more than an hour since it was a holiday.....oh My God it was very very tiring when you are alone ....no body to talk to you and you are only seeing tired faces. I would suggest just plan before you visit this place : it should be early in the morning because waiting to mount the chair lift is boring. While coming back there was no problem. Queue up for the sky chair lift

Rollercoaster Ride

A trip to any theme park will not be complete without riding a rollercoaster, even a small one, but this small one is enough to make the kids scream at the top of the lungs. For me, well...it was a very mild one.

Ghosts of casino

by l_joo

Addicted gamblers of Malaysia very much believe the casino has countless miniature ghosts in invisible form which the owner trained to make gamblers lose money. I dislike gamble but I enjoy telling this ghost’s story to tourists, hehehe. Head must be covered with newspaper when entering the casino of Genting so they (little ghosts) won’t notice your existence, and you will win. Bring sweets to feed them (little ghosts). Sprinkle sweets underneath where you play, to feed them (little ghosts), this way, you sure win. Try shouting the name of the casino owner Mr. Lim Goh Tong, it will help as well. A tip for cureless gamblers.

Genting Highlands through the years (part 2)

More photos of my trip to Genting Highlands about 20 years ago. My family and I still visit this place periodically, especially my mother and relatives who go there very often, mainly to the casino :)
