We stayed at Sofitel about 3 years back. The food then wasn't great but most people went for the golf. This time, we found the rooms getting a bit run-down. But the level of service from the staff has improved. Not to say there can't be more improvements, but we could see the competence & initiative of some staff. The rooms could be spruced up a little and they definitely need to get a new supply of room towels. Most were threadbare and there was a situation of not having enough cos all rooms were fully taken up. We had to wait a whole day to get fresh ones.
The food at the Ishwara has improved tremendously. We had the buffet dinner and also the buffet breakfast every morning.
It is a nice place to go for R & R, a short break away from Singapore.
Nice for walks pass the golf course or driving range.
They have nice pools, a recreation one with wading pool for kids & a Olympic sized one at the recreation building.
There's a Sports and recreation building with a 6-lane Bowling Alley, 2 Pool tables and 1 Biliard table, squash courts, lawn tennis, a small gym.
Just a note though that all the facilties need sprucing up.
For those who drive in, there's a car wash and polish service. We were quite happy with the polish service. Car wash @RM$10 Wash, vacuum, polish & wax @RM$70. Call Ganesh 016-7110260
