The Hotel Overlooking Johor Causeway
The hotel is located on the less busy part of the city known as Bukit Meldrum. Next to the hotel is the Johore Straits and Singapore is clearly visible from here. All rooms are en-suite and they are large and clean. I find that it is value for money. I stayed there on one of the week ends during the Malaysian school holidays and the rate is quite reasonable even after the pick period/weekend surcharge was imposed.
Unique Quality: Very close to the Sultan Iskandar Customs, Immigration and Quarantine Complex (CIQ complex) and The Zon duty free shopping complex at Stulang Laut.
Opinion of Price: less expensive than average

Easily RM20-RM30 for the normal town taxis. Most taxis in JB are notorious for not using the meter but I guess the above rate is more or less accepted from your place to Senai Airport.
I used to pay about RM40 from Seri Alam but that was 2 years ago before the taxi fare increased.

Second Home For Some S'porean
by imran8852
Not all S'porean go to J.B just to shop but some go to J.B to visit their families or relatives there. Some even bought a house in J.B to stay. We love J.B because the feeling of kampong life is there. Some S’porean married to M’sian and prefers to stay in J.B or vice versa…Anyway Singapore was under Malaysia once! My Friends, Relatives And The Food Of Course!

Johor Bahru's population is about 2.7million consisting of mainly Malay, Chinese and Indian. Johor experiences a tropical climate with humidity ranging from 82 - 86% and daily temperature varying from 21 to 32 C. The mean annual rainfall is at 177 cm. There is rain and sunshine throughout the year.
The monsoon season in Johor is from the end of the year to around February. Many foreigners are worried about the monsoon season. I feel that it does not make much difference as it just rain more days, but the rain will not last long, especially during heavy downpour. During this season, it is only the beaches and islands that will be affected. There will be more floods in undeveloped villages. In JB, monsoon or non-monsoon season are the same. Well, sometimes it is better to have the rain to cool down the atmosphere in the hot weather.

Royal Johor Country Club

The Royal Johor Country Club (or RJCC) is one of the old "royal" clubs in the country joining the league of other clubs such as Royal Perak Golf Club, Royal Selangor Golf Club, Royal Pahang Golf Club etc... It is one of the clubs still maintain its course measurement in yards while others have switched to meters... The 18-hole par-72 course plays to a long 6,964yds from the blue tees... The Tunku Mahkota (First) Nine plays 3,451yds while the Mentri Besar (Second) Nine is 3,513yds... The course is hilly, undulating and long represent a challenge to the golfers who need to be extremely fit as it is a walking course... The fairway is of cow grass and fairly well maintained... RJCC is a walking course where caddies are compulsory... The normal caddy fee (including tips) is RM50... The dress code requires players to wear long pants and no shorts are allowed... and so is turtle neck t-shirts... The club house is newly renovated with the golfer's terrace looking over the finishing holes... Food and drinks are rather cheap at RJCC...
