AB Motel

Not a bad place with 3 types of room. Old (wooden) chalets with fans go for 40 Ringgits. You can have a newer chalet with A/C for 60 Ringgits. Pick of the accommodation are beach facing large chalets with 2 double beds and A/C for 100 Ringgits.

Unique Quality: Decent rooms at fair prices. They also rent bikes and cars at reasonable rates and there is an internet cafe for keeping in touch and updating VT!

AB Motel - Update Oct 2003

Since my last visit, AB Motel seems to be one of the few places building more bungalows. To be honest, it's a bit of a mess at the moment with cement mixers going all day and resembling a building site more than a beach resort.

Beachfront Accomodation

Cheap. Clean. Comfortable. Good location - in middle of Cenang beach. Surrounded with restaurants, package tour offices and shops. Near Duty Free, Underwater World and Cenang Beach. Near the Langkawi International Airport. Cabs and scooters for rent are a plenty.

The staffs are friendly. The motel is old - the room will show signs of aging, but it is clean and spacious. Check in time is as long as there is available room and check out is 12nn.

You can go there early, leave your bags, use their toilet - to freshen up/change clothes- and go ahead start your adventure. You can also leave your bags with them upon check out - and enjoy the sand while waiting for your flight/trip home.

No online booking - call them for reservation. Around 25RM cab ride from the International Airport.

Just beside their motel is the Ashtar Tour and a little walk down Cenang Road is the Pro Link Tours.

Most popular beach chalets

This is my favourite place to stay in Langkawi, straight on the beach and great balconies with sea views and at the heart of Pantai Cenang.

I stayed here twice in 2006 and find it very convenient, clean and comfortable. Although the pillows are a almost rock solid ;o)

They dont take reservations so the best thing is to turn up early in the morning for a chance of a room or even a room facing the sea. The other rooms are built in such a way that even if not facing the sea you still get the view.

Unique Quality: At a very reasonable price, RM90 per room per night, all the rooms are very spacious, have two double beds, fans, hot showers and air con. Although I am not a fan of the air con. They also have a fridge in every room which is very handy. For those who cannot live without TV, they have one in every room as well. They even provide a broom for

There are two sides to this place the back, on the other side of the road, and the beach front. They have an internet place, laundry, moto cycle rental and boat trips etc...

The people running it are not the most forhtcoming, a bit shy and reserved but it still is a very pleasant stay :o)

The restaurant serves great Malaysian food at a very decent price, my favorite, prawns in coconut sauce, yummy :o)

Comfort zone

Palm tree and aircondition....

Unique Quality: walking distance to the beach. Lovely and cheap inhouse restaurant, a great place to go for lunch.

Cheap beach guesthouse

We wanted a place on the beach but our budget (Langkawi was the 2nd last stop of a long trip) didn't cover it. So instead we stayed across the road in the AB Motel. Not having a sea view wasn't exactly a loss - it would've been nice, but our room came with a free cat (Scratchy), so I'll take that as a swap.

Large comfortable room, samll balcony, and the beach just a short stroll over the road. Right next door to Cenang's best restaurant too - the Red Tomato. Can't go wrong.

Unique Quality: No views, but large bed, bathroom, and cat.

The biggest rip off

This place is completely run down, it is owned by people living in KL, who open it during peak season for a quick buck. They pick up all the travellers/tourists after all the other places are fully booked and charge RM100. The rooms are smelly for being closed for a long time, the first room we had was leaking when it rained and the bathroom needed a very good scrub. The sheets and blankets have seen better days.

Imagine moving from this to AB Motel and paying less per night :o)

Although the people running it are friendly, I would strongly not recommend it!

hi

obviously i dont know about nadias inn but AB motel is a good place located on the cenang beach which is the most beautiful beach on the island with some cheap restaurants around it is only 5 min walk from the underwater world we went there 5 friends me and a friend stayed at a cheaper place but 3 of our friends stayed at AB the place has also a reliable rent a car service it is right on the beach
