    During my 3 days stay at Sheraton Perdana, I really didn't feel going back home. If you are planning to have holiday with a combination of Sun, Sea, Beach and Shopping, then this is resort you should stay. Located 3 km from the main town of Kuah, it is a peaceful retreat tucked away admist 104 acres of jungle clad hills. Taxi from the hotel to Kuah town only cost RM6, and taxi from the airport will cost RM20.

    The Resort has 200 luxuriously rooms and suites with garden, sea view and sea front view. Rooms located on the 3rd floor near the Spa, is just smells amazing as aromatherapy oil from the Spa just covers the entire 3rd floor rooms.

    My stay at the Sheraton Perdana has never a dull moment.

    Sheraton Perdana is now known as The Westin Langkawi Resort & Spa

    A fully equipped Gymnasium with Jacuzzi & Sauna, 3 swimming pools, tennis & squash court, sea sport centre, indoor games, a spa and a children nursery.

    There are also daily activities organise by the resort; such as Village Tour On Bicycle, Kite Flying, Night Jungle Walk, Porcupine Cave Adventure, Beach Volley Ball, Traditional Games and etc.

    The staff here were very friendly.The room was clean tidy and very roomy.They had theme nights .eg. barbeque on the beach. and continental dinners.
    Happy hour was at 5 pm every day. 2 for the price of 1 drinks

    The theme was very nice....you knew you were on an island by the decor

    all the chalet were located within the natural environment, without harming natural beauty. Our chalet was also in the middle of a deep bushes and that chalet had all the convenience of a modern accommodation. There was a balcony as well to sit down and enjoy the evening.

    Accomodation here is in comfortable cabanas, which are not too close to each other. Nothing too fancy, but clean and practical. The rooms have small fridges and coffee and tea making facilities and tv.

    Lovely grounds, well taken care of. Pool area is also clean. Service is mostly polite and friendly.

    This hotel is at one of the most beautiful beaches and the beach is never crowded. All kinds of watersports available.

    There are two restaurants. Food is good, but a bit pricey. If you don't want to eat at the hotel, its a long way to anywhere else. That is a big minus.

    Around the resort you can see for example monitor lizards, silver leaf monkeys, hornbills, rainbow lizards etc.

    Hotel also organizes free entertainment like snake shows, cultural shows etc.

    There are a couple of stalls selling soft drinks, water and snacks in front of the hotel entrance. They are priced very reasonably and of a much better value than the really tiny hotel shop.

    All in all, we had a good time there and would recommend this place to others, if they don't mind its isolated location. But.. next time in Langkawi, we will stay in Pantai Cenang area (maybe).

    This is a very nice hotel with rooms set in traditional Malay style houses or chalets. Each Chalet consists of 4 units. The rooms are big particularly the upstairs ones where there is a high ceiling up to timber roof. There is small bathroom and dressing area. The only slight downside is that with so much wood the rooms are dark and this was not helped by the fact that it rained for nearly the entire week I was there. The rooms could do with some lighter / brighter colours inside.

    The grounds are beautiful and initially I had a chalet overlooking a pond (see photo) on the ground floor. These rooms have lower ceilings and are much darker than the rooms at the higher level. The other big drawback are the mosquitoes are particularly active by the ponds in the hotel. I requested a move to another room and the second one was overlooking the pool area and the mosquito problem was much less. Each room is provided with insect spray and its a good idea to use it !

    The restaurants are fantastic particularly the 2 near the reception area. There is an excellent sports centre with gym, table tennis, squash court etc. There are 2 bars and both feature nightly entertainment. Definitely recommend it as a hotel though with all the rain I may not have seen it at its best.

    There are 2 big freeform pools and they are excellent. The food is fantastic and a great range of choices. The bars are good and with beer at €1 a bottle you can put up with the band doing cover versions and singing phonetically....hell after a few beers you'll even sing along !

    The only down sides for me were the beach area is not that nice and though it looks nice in photos it isn't that clean. The Mosquitoes are hungry and you can forget the aftershave 'eau de Insect reppellant' was all I wore while I was there ! The rooms could do with some brightening up but maybe I didn't see it at its best with all the rain.

    Two important tips 1 ask for a room on the upper level and 2. ask for a room overlooking the pool not the ponds as you will not get bitten alive this way and the rooms are brighter.

    • I would not recomend this place to anyone. The room itself was ok, but the bathroom was kinda primitive. - No running hot water, an electric heater thing in the shower that let through only a dribble at a time it took ages to have a shower, I totally ignored trying to shave. There are no Lifts either which can be a bummer when trying to manage luggage. No in room safe (which is included in many online adverts).

    However the resort is right next to Holliday Villa and you have the run of the facilities there, (pools, bars etc) The beach however is fantastic.

    All the chalets are from a distance of main reception area, so you have two options either walk on a zigzag track to your chalet or take a shuttle service. we were staying in a chalet which was located on uphill so we always use to walk down to reception area and our way back shuttle service was the best option

    This hotel is like a dream, when you enter through the reception you must notice the beautiful fan created of wood…
    The pool area is stunning while you take a walk to your bungalow it feels like walking through a small jungle, the sounds and the romantic atmosphere is unbelievable..
