    Really liked the location as it is 5 minutes from the ferry jetty to Kedah and Penang and the main town itself Kuah.

    However the better beaches are away, 15 to 20 minutes drive. The hotel does have an outdoor swimming pool. Be careful of security as some of my friends had their rooms broken in some time ago.

    Nice family cabana with quiet beach of Pantai Kok and a fun family size swimming pool. Walking distance to the Seven Wells and with the wonderful backdrop of hills in the background and the sea in front.

    Located 15 minutes west rom Langkawi International airport. Disadvantage, some distance to the main town of Kuah.

    • Although this hotel is out from the centre of town it was ideally located for a relaxing holiday. There was a taxi stand at the front gate & the hotel supplied you with the fixed prices charged for trips which was really helpful. Along the street there was a number of restaurants that opened on different days of the week as it was the quiet season. There was a little food store & you could also buy clothes, shoes & icecreams just outside. The hotel had its own store & the prices were reasonable as Langkawi is a duty free island.

    The hotel had a huge pool which was good as it was really too rough to swim at the beach. It also had a jacuzzi & a swim up bar. There were a number of restaurants but the food out in the streets was unbelieveably cheap & yummy. They didn't hassle anyone who brought their own drinks down to the pool.

    • My wife and I are just back from a stay in Pelangi Beach, and it was the highlight of our Malaysian trip. The hotel consists of a number of wooden chalets, each two stories, containing four spacious rooms. When booking, or checking in, make sure you get a pool, lake or sea view, not a garden view, and ask for a first floor room, as they have valulted ceilings. The hotel is located on the south of the island, ideal for exploring. We hired a jeep at the airport for RM80 per day, and it is well worth it, as taxis are not that widely available and will greatly hinder your exploration of the island. The restaurants in the hotel were never that busy, and lacked atmosphere, apart from the open-air barbeque (eat on the beach, not inside). I would highly recommend the nearby Bon Ton restaurant for food. Overall Pelangi is a beautiful hotel set in lush gardens, but with an average beach. I would definately return here.

    • i had a great stay at berjaya. they r one of the best hotels in langkawi. they have good services n facilities. but its kinda far from the town. some 30 - 40 mins drive. so its recommended fo ppl who wanna be away from the town. its a great place fo families too.

    da setting of da hotel is great. they have chalets, n forrest view rooms. i had da chance to stay in a forrest view room. it had a really great feelin n da room was spacious. it had a 'kampung' kinda feelin to it.

    • We stayed 3 nights at this resort.
    They have 3 restaurants: bbq, buffet, thai, & a coffeehouse.
    They have lots of activities during the day: daytrips, watersports, massages (expensive).

    They have a great breakfast buffet with Continental & Asian favorites.
    The banana bread is especially yummy!

    This hotel was included in a deal from a tour operator that included transfers and the ferry price so we didn't choose it ourselves. It was fine though and had a great swimming pool and is less than a 5 minute walk to the beach of Pantai Tengah.

    Apparently it has the longest swimming pool in Malaysia. The downside was that the room smelt a bit damp and musty.

    The food there was brilliant, although some evenings the restaurant caters for specific appetites such as Italian or spicy Malay which may not be preferable to some, but you can always order off the menu. The hotel staff are friendly and always happy to offer a lift to wherever you wish to go around the hotel in their handy 'buggies' which are mainly used to transport you and your luggage to your rooms. The chalets are laid out well, with two floors (about 4 or 5 rooms per chalet) and are wonderfully spacious havens from the heat.

    - in-hotel spa with many treatments - a leaflet for this is provided in your room
