    Beachfront haven - Pantai Cenang

    by

Although this "resort" is better described as motel accommodation the rooms were clean and airconditioned and the staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a small pool in the courtyard in the centre of the rooms which together form a "U" shape facing the beach. The other good thing about this hotel is the food which is sensational and only a touch more expensive than the street restaurants. Breakfast was included in the room rate and it was plentiful and delicious.

Unique Quality: Outstanding restaurant in a fabulous "on the beach" setting from where you can watch the sunset.

Directions: On the main road in Pantai Cenang and with direct beach frontage and access.

    Langkawi's "best " 2star Hotel :-)

    by

    "Only" a 2 1/2 star hotel.

As we normally use to stay in 3/4star hotels, we were a little concerned before, but were through to bits with this very friendly and cosy hotel. Made us feel as if we were staying in "our own house, sharing with some more guests".

The small garden makes you feel like being in a - safe - jungle. Although swimming pools are somewhat important to me and this swimming-pool could be somewhat larger indeed, I was very happy with it and we had a lovely time spending the end of our evenings there, sipping our "late night drink".

The restaurant is great and serves delicious international food and ... German tap beer. Although very prominent on Langkawi, we never had the feeling of being disturbed by its "guests from outside" or by too much noise.

The rooms are relatively big and very clean, with a marble floor and with a nice but no luxury furnishing.

Well, the bathroom is nothing special, though, and the shower without a shower tub is the only thing, I was not too happy about! (I hate to have to stand on a flooded floor after showering! ) This would definitely be a great "plus", if it could be changed! Nevertheless - definitely NOT a reason, not to stay in this hotel!

Sun beds were always available and the possibility to sit right on the sand in the outdoor restaurant while eating is - for us - the best! The food on offer is international, excellent and of really good quality. The breakfast included within the room rate is a la carte and one has a great choice. In fact, we did not miss a breakfast BUFFET at all!

The hotel is located directly on the long and lovely beach and we were positively surprised that there were hardly any hawkers in that area. (What a difference to most Thailand beaches!) Other small restaurants situated directly on the beach and a lovely big 4star hotel , the Pelangi Beach (where they have live music and you can even go or a dance) are very nearby and can be reached only within a few minutes, walking along the beach.

Unique Quality: Cosy athmosphere, nice rooms, good service, good food and drinks (especially beers), quiet and leger! Directly at the beach. Very well located. Shops and more restaurants within few walking minutes but still not "too touristy" at all!

We paid 42,- E/room via a German Travel Organizer. If we had booked directly with them, it would have been slightly more expensive - but not much!

A little German resort at Langkawi

    by

Decent accomodations for a reasonable price.
Hotel is decorated with lots of balinese figures/masks so ambience feels more Indonesian than Malaysian over here.
Also, there are quaint waxed paper umbrellas all over the place so no need to worry if it rains at all.

Unique Quality: The resort is right at the beach so you get great views when you dine at the resort's restaurant.
Also, polite and excellent service from hotel staff.
Waiters took the trouble to lay out cutlery
properly even though we dined al fresco.
Tables/ Chairs are on the sandy beach so you'll be able to dig your toes into the sand even as you eat.

Directions: Rent a car / Take a cab from Airport.
Head towards Pantai Cenang Beach ( left ) from the airport. It's only about 10-15 min away.

    Nice resort and beergarden

    by

Entering the Beach Garden Resort past the stone guards gives you immediately the feeling to be cut off completely from the outside world. A short jungle path heading west leads through a lush green jungle like garden, past a small pond down to the beach. At the end of the path when you step out of the shadow of the canopy the bright sunshine reflects on a spot of white, fine sand.

It is the open air part of the Beach Garden Resort restaurant, the beer garden. Protected by a sun sail this is an ideal place to enjoy a cool beer from the keg and enjoy the sunset at the same time.

A really nice place with a fabulous restaurant. Prices are more than average for the location but in life you get what you pay for and compared to prices elsewhere in the world it is still cheap. Highly recommended.

    Single Room RM140 (*RM170)
    Double Room RM160 (*190)
    Extra Bed RM45 (*RM50)

    * High season - 1st November to 31st January

Rates include breakfast but are subject to a 10% service charge.

Check out time is 12 Noon.

Unique Quality: Great rooms, excellent restaurant but small pool.

    Directions: Cenang beach

Langkawi's Best Value Hotel!!

by theheronclan about Beach Garden Resort

We stayed at the Beach Garden resort for 9 days in June 2006. The weather wasnt great (rainy) but the accomadation was great, considering the price. The rooms are very close to the beach, and it is a lowkey quiet resort. The hotels restuarant is right on the beach and you can slip your shoes off whilst having your meal and feel the sand between your toes!
The food is very good, and the beach is very nice, with clean water and lovely views.
We enjoyed our stay. The only negative part of it was the ensuite bathrooms, which were a bit basic, but ok. We paid about €30 per night (total), for a large air con family room. Great great great location!! On the beach, close to the Airport, and with a nice restaurant and bar.

Aseania or Beach Garden Resort or Awana Porto Malai?

by arvindsachdev

Hi everyone, love this website. lots of information etc. Making my trip to Langkawi for 3 nights in July. I have managed to downscale the hotels to these three:
Aseania, Beach Garden Resort and Awana,

which one would you guys recommend??? id like to be as close to the beach as possible, to see the sea while sipping some duty free beers. Also the beach should have some night life, boozing and meeting people at seaside bars. so what you guys think???

Hi Arvind...
Thank you for choosing Langkawi as your next holiday destination.

These three hotels are among the best in Langkawi. But...the great one is Awana Porto Malai. Located very close to the sea. Feel the fresh air there. And...also you can see the luxurious yathches from all over the world.YOU can relaxing yourself because it is very calm...Enjoy your holiday

For you, Beach Garden Resort is a must! If you can get a room. Ice cold beer from the tab, imported German wheat beer, right on the beach relaxed and easy going atmosphere, friendly stuff and close to other nite spots. Forget the yachts at the end of Langkawi.
