Langkawi's "best " 2star Hotel :-)
"Only" a 2 1/2 star hotel.
As we normally use to stay in 3/4star hotels, we were a little concerned before, but were through to bits with this very friendly and cosy hotel. Made us feel as if we were staying in "our own house, sharing with some more guests".
The small garden makes you feel like being in a - safe - jungle. Although swimming pools are somewhat important to me and this swimming-pool could be somewhat larger indeed, I was very happy with it and we had a lovely time spending the end of our evenings there, sipping our "late night drink".
The restaurant is great and serves delicious international food and ... German tap beer. Although very prominent on Langkawi, we never had the feeling of being disturbed by its "guests from outside" or by too much noise.
The rooms are relatively big and very clean, with a marble floor and with a nice but no luxury furnishing.
Well, the bathroom is nothing special, though, and the shower without a shower tub is the only thing, I was not too happy about! (I hate to have to stand on a flooded floor after showering! ) This would definitely be a great "plus", if it could be changed! Nevertheless - definitely NOT a reason, not to stay in this hotel!
Sun beds were always available and the possibility to sit right on the sand in the outdoor restaurant while eating is - for us - the best! The food on offer is international, excellent and of really good quality. The breakfast included within the room rate is a la carte and one has a great choice. In fact, we did not miss a breakfast BUFFET at all!
The hotel is located directly on the long and lovely beach and we were positively surprised that there were hardly any hawkers in that area. (What a difference to most Thailand beaches!) Other small restaurants situated directly on the beach and a lovely big 4star hotel , the Pelangi Beach (where they have live music and you can even go or a dance) are very nearby and can be reached only within a few minutes, walking along the beach.
Unique Quality: Cosy athmosphere, nice rooms, good service, good food and drinks (especially beers), quiet and leger! Directly at the beach. Very well located. Shops and more restaurants within few walking minutes but still not "too touristy" at all!
We paid 42,- E/room via a German Travel Organizer. If we had booked directly with them, it would have been slightly more expensive - but not much!
