More about Bella Vista Hotel

Castle in Langkawi

by fengshui about Bella Vista Langkawi

Stayed at : 2 bedroom apartment
Price : RM250 per night with breakfast
Pro :
1) very near to lobby, coffee house & seaside - nice view
2) ample parking space, very near our apartment
3) very near to Kuah town
4) very good House-keeping service - fast
Con :
1) Although it was a 2 rooms apartment, only one room has air-cond, 2nd room only has a ceiling fan. Another air-cond was at the living room, so have to switched on that unit the whole day to ensure the other bedroom is cooling.
2) Pipe water supply is yellowish in colour, must be the poor piping system. The water is not drinkable & have to bear with it during shower.
3) Shower head is fixed on the wall - not children friendly
4) Swimming Pool is closed
5) Limited food & same food for breakfast every morning

Langkawi trip in 1 week time!

by flare

Hello everyone!

I was thinking of making a trip to langkawi for a short get away. And i came acorss this 3-star hotel 'Bella Vista Langkawi'. I noticed that there aren't alot of reviews online regarding this hotel. (Actually i found 1 review only!)

Therefore, if anyone came acorss or even stayed in this hotel.. Ur help is greatly appreciated!

1) Is this hotel old? Are the rooms in poor condition? Like... muddy tap water, mouldy bath tubs or even uncleaned sheets?

2) What facilities do the surroundings of the hotel provide? Is there any night markets near-by? Or even food stalls?
I would hate to be confine in the resort compounds..

3) Thirdly, in ur opinion, which is the best beach in Langkawi? And how far/accessible is it from the hotel? And which beach is the nearest to the hotel? I only know that there is a reclaim beach on the hotel grounds..therefore they call it a beachfront hotel?

4) Any MUST-DO activity that i must add in my itinary? Pls note.. im not a certified diver. =(

Thanks alot!!

All I know about the hotel is that it is at Kuah Town and quite a way from the best beaches, cafes, and night markets.

The best beach in Langkawi for all those things is Pantai Cenang some 15 km from Kuah Town. The beach is beautiful, the cafes great and right at the beach, and it is never crowded. There are a range of budget to good hotels here. Hire a car and drive around the island looking at all the different areas (plenty of wild monkeys) but one thing which you should do is an "island-hoping" speedboat tour. It costs about US$12 per head with 8 people in each boat and visits the island where the lake of the pregnant maiden is, eagle feeding, swimming at an island beach, and generally looking at the clear waters surrounding Langkawi. It takes about 4 hours and is similar to the island tours off Phuket but without the crowds!

I'm heading back there in November, have a good trip.

Travel Tips for Pulau Langkawi

Duty free shopping

by kyoub

Bring what ever you wish. It depends on whether you are staying for a week-end or a few months. Maybe you should bring an empty bag and stock up while you are here. Langkawi is a very casual island so you won't need any dressy clothes. Cotton is best because it does get warm here even with the ocean breeze. Capris, shorts, shirts, long trousers, hat, swim attire and cover-ups. Don't forget the sandals and a pair of comfy walking shoes. Please only wear your swim attire while at the beach. There are several shops but if you have a favoite brand it is best to bring it from home. Bring it with you although it is duty free shopping here. Don't forget to apply the sunscreen.

Sunset and picnic

by ph7

If you want some privacy while enjoying the sunset by the seaside, you can pack some food, and beers, park your car by the beach beside the airport runway on the way to Pantai Cenang. Watch the sunset while drinking / eating.

You can also pack some food to Pantai Pasir Tengkorak along the way to Datai. Sit under the tree by the beach and eat while enjoying the beautiful view.

This tip is recommended for people who don't like the hot sun and crowds. You could visit the 2 places even in the afternoon when the sun is shining brightly. Both places have trees, where you can hide from the sun.

Taman Awam Teluk Yu

by Imbi

It is one of the beaches not own by resort or any other organisation. It is purely for public and any one could enjoy beach. There are few beaches exist in Langkawi, which are really good and quiet. You could notice few local families or group of youth there sometime.

Hunting for Batek

by nevermy about Atma Alam Batek Art Village

There are a lot of Batek (or batik) places in Langkawi. It's one of the best things to find in asian art. Also many differents in quality. Some are not even real batek. Ofcource the real one have both sides of material with same color and made mostly from silk or cotton or both. But if ypu're looking for the real batek wich made with the soul of the artist this place is the best. They have men's, women's and childrens clothes, plant material for your own needs and...paintings. Those look amaizing if theres a light from the back, as it is in their gallery part. The owner is an artist him self, so most of products made by himself. His wife is also an artist. They have a grait variaty of products. A lot to choose from... Painting are amazing, shirt is good both for parties and work. Prices are a bit higher then else where, but quality cost it. Prices are fixed.
