Home by the sea

We had very pleasant 6 nights in this hotel. The staff are very friendly and help you with anything. Our double room was good size with nice bathroom. The view were straight on to a beach. The beach was never crouded.

Unique Quality: Every day they put a new fruit bowl in your room and replace ice in the ice bucket. While you are by the swimming pool or by the bar, they come and give you nice cold towels and sliced melon.

Paradise

This is probably the best hotel I have ever been to.It’s not like the big 5 star hotels!!But this isn’t what matters. What matters is how you feel at a hotel and be sure that you will relax here and be ………..happy.
It has only 29 rooms, all of them with a view at the beach. The stuff is unbelievable. More than friendly!! We really enjoyed every minute that we stayed there. The facilities are great and have to offer everything that you’ll need.
Some nights there was a barbeque with great food and a nice atmosphere.
The breakfast is great and the restaurant even better. The hotel manager made us feel really good and even send us a handwritten postcard at our house in Greece.
The beach is only 10 meters from your room.
Don’t miss this hotel and the people that are working there!!! You will be surprised what a good time you will have.

A well kept secret

If you want to avoid children screaming and rubbing others' shoulders, this is the hotel to go for.

It is a relatively small boutique hotel perfect for enjoying some intimate hours with your loved ones.

A 5-star alternative to others luxurious hotels in Langkawi.

romantic..........

never stay there before but heard it's very gd.

the resort is right on pantai cenang beach. all the rooms r facing the beach.

happen to walk by the resort n found the tables setup on the beach with candles to be very romantic

Unique Quality: that's my stay the next time i go langkawi again.

for those couples, try Casa Del Mar. the activities r right on the beach with parasailing jetski etc. the ppl r not pushy either so dun wori about being harrassed.

Datai is at the other end of the island n is totally isolated. While Tanjong Rhu is far but a little nearer. the sand is white n powdery there.

If u r looking for romance plus a little edge , take Casa Del Mar :)

Spanish home by the sea (in Malaysia!)

Relaxing, with a really personal feel.

Unique Quality: It has less than 30 rooms so the attention from the staff is very close - they learn your name and are friendly without being obtrusive.
Rooms are lovely and all have a view of the sea/beach - facing a magnificent sunset most nights.
Lots of little touches: like fresh milk in the fridge every day, lighting a lamp for you on your patio at sundown.
Handy little gym upstairs in the spa, where the machines have a sea view through the palm tops!

Very handy for a variety of restaurants behind the beach. (Restaurant is expensive and small although the wine list isn't too bad!)

Casa del Mar

Not cheap, by local standards, but probably the best Pantai Cenang has to offer. The resort includes a spa and gourmet restaurant where you can indulge yourself in different ways. The place to come for a special occasion, maybe even a honeymoon, or if money isn't a problem.
Various packages are available that include accommodation, food and/or spa treatments. Three types of accommodation are available - Deluxe Room, Junior Suite, Deluxe Suite. Depending on what you want, and at what time of year you visit, there can be big variations in cost. Check web site or contact hotel for details.

They really care about you

Wanna feel a personal touch? Wanna feel privacy? Only 29 rooms gives all hotel guests as much peace as they ever wanted.

Located on a beach Casa Del Mar is an ideal place for those who love sunshine but doesn't feel comfortable in a huge crowds.

Easy to switch from the pool to the ocean and back again to the pool ...

Hotel has an excellent (but a little bit pricey) restaurant.

Highly recommend Casa Del Mar

We've just returned from 5 nights at Casa Del Mar, Langkawi ... 15/5 - 20/5/2006. We read many favourable reviews before leaving home and had high expectations of this being a great place to stay. We were not disappointed at all.

Beautiful surroundings, warm and welcoming. Very tastefully presented. A lovely place to relax and be pampered.

Staff were very friendly and thoughtful from the moment we arrived. They were genuinely interested in making our stay a happy one. Once we'd settled in we felt at home reading in the lounge or lazing under the coconut palms. The room was modern and spotlessly clean with an unforgettable view across the pool and beach.

Everything was fantastic, the resort's service, the meals and the location... beachside bars just along the sand and friendly shopkeepers along the road outside the hotel to sell you clothes, souvenirs and food. Lots of atmosphere with no pretension.

Looking forward to returning next year.

Tanjung-ru in Langkawi. Idyllic. I think it was the best place I've ever stayed. Every little detail has been captured. Pool was magnificient and there is a private beach. I'd go back in a heartbeat. Service A++, Scenery A++, Staff A++, Price A++

Hi VT'rs

Just a quick question has anybody stayed at the Casa Del Mar if so any advice re best restaurants etc, I travelled last nov to Langkawi but stayed at the Datai. Fancied staying somewhere a bit busier this time round (oct 31st eleven nights). We are staying in a deluxe suite so if anybody has any experience of staying there let us know

We have just come back. I think there are no real busy places as the locals were telling us that there has not been much business since the tsunami. We ate at the Padi Cuisine Cafe which is just up the road from you. It has great Indian food and the best Korma I have tasted. Another place is the Lighthouse Restaurant which is another one that is down the road from you - its a more pricey restaurant and the food is not really local but excellent and on the sea front.

Hello Viki,

I stayed in Casa del Mar last year with my family for 10nights and have just booked to return again this year. We also stayed in the Deluxe suite.
The hotel is small and does not have all the facilities/restaurants that the Datai has, but we really liked the atmosphere and service.
The restaurant in the hotel has fantasic food but is pricey when compared to other places close by.
