Easy access to Kuah town
Generally the room is very normal. Nothing fancy. There were ants in the toilet and mini bar. Even after a complaint to the front desk, the ants were still there and they did not offer to give us another room. However, the toilet is quite spacious with shower stall and bath tub. Service is pretty much standard. There is a jacuzzi adjoining the swimming pool. The hotel is quite old but you can tell it was recently refurbished.
As the hotel is in the middle of Kuah town, it is just a stone's throw to many duty free shops. It is also a short hop to the Eagle Square, Royal Langkawi Yacht Club and the ferry jetty.

Hotel in heart of Kuah Towb
It is very convenient location, city centre, there is night market every saturday night (pasar malam) selling variety of local food. Nice and cheap.
The hotel has spacious room, but not much nice view from the room. Eat out and shopping is in walking distance.
The staffs are friendly. I enjoy staying there.
Unique Quality: Heart in city centre, can walk to the shopping centre, and good restaurant nearby. The buffet is quite standard, with bread and local food like coconut rice (nasi lemak), friend vermiceli, and sambal (chilli with small fish)

City Bayview with View
This hotel is located conveniently in the heart of down-town Kuah and has been designed to accomodate the demands of both leisure and business travellers alike with its understated luxury and amenities.
Unique Quality: There is a business centre for internet facilities which the rate was RM 10 for an hour's use. the Hotel Lobby & wait area has free Wi-Fi service.

The Best Hotel In Kuah Town
Recently (October 2006), I'd stayed in this hotel because my family house in Langkawiis fully occuppied with other relatives the came back from all over the states in Malaysia to celebrate Aidil Fitri. As my family house is within Kuah area, I decided to stay nearby so that I can easily travel on and off to the house.
City Bayview is situated in the heart of Kuah main town. Its the only hotel that really has a good setup in the town area.
The room that I'd stayed (deluxe) is spacious and very comfortable. Bed is huge, great view and complete with TV and coffee making facilities. The bathroom also is very big and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Lots of amenities and facilities offered here in the City Bayview such as Gymnassium, Coffee House, Chinesse Restaurant, Swimming Pool, Business Centre etc.
I'd notice a few area can be improved :-
a) Housekeeping should top up tea and coffee sachet during making up the room
b) Housekeeping should provide new shower gel, shampoo and soap during making up the room.
c) The sound from the aircond vent can the reduce more to ensure 100% relaxation to guest.
d) Daily breakfast buffet should have more variety of foods to choose.
e) The Facility Dept. should ensuring the room is ant free at all time.
f) TV remote should be placed in the room rather than guest to request for it.
Unique Quality: 1) Entertainment centre is inside this hotel. There is a karaoke at the ground level.
2) Spa that offers massage services is also inside the hotel. (Alun - Alun Spa)

Hotel in Kuah Town
Not fancy but a good location right in Kuah Town. Service staff was friendly especially in the bar/karaoke lounge. Rooms were serviceable but motel-like. Big bathrooms with shower and tub.
Unique Quality: No beaches nearby but they have a nice pool. You stay here because you want to be in the middle of Kuah Town. We stayed here because it is close to the marina.

Hi there! Halim here. City Bayview is a nice hotel if you are into shopping. Located very near to shops and eating places. Banks are also very nearby (if you run out of cash after a hard day of shopping). There are alot of interesting places here in Langkawi. To get to these places, you will definately need to rent a car or bike. September looks like raining season, so I would like to suggest that you rent a car. A small Kancil will do. Please be careful of illegal operators as they charge less but you will not be covered by insurance.
