Booked the hotel via holidaycity.com. Response was quick and very satisfactory. I called in the day before and the reception said the place is full. Then holidaycity confirmed my booking, like within the hour. Talk about speedy service!!
The room is NOT carpeted, but tiled. Quite spacious. We got a room with 2 queen size bed, so the two kids slept in one, and mommy and daddy slept in the other.
Some online review has some not so cleaned shower room, but we find it not as bad as the picture.
The usual breakfast, as well as the upgrade to the western breakfast, is very satisfactory.
We just treated the hotel as a place to sleep, so didn't explore the surrounding much. Alas, I only found out that Langkasuka has got some very nice beach on the last day.
Unique Quality: Just minutes from the airport.
Also driving distance from the usual tourist spots.

I got back from Langkawi just last week and the only thing that marred my holiday was this resort. There were so many things within the room that wasn't in working condition! For starters, the phone wasn't working. There were various damaged sockets in the room that were coming out from the wall. The kettle that was provided produced murky water that was supposed to be "boiled". The housekeeping services are horrid. There was no hairdryers available and when we requested for one, they brought up one w/o a switch!! They don't even bother to have quality control checks. When we requested for 2 iced jugs of water since the kettle wasn't producing proper drinking water, they seemed really reluctant to bring those up.
The air-conditioning was worse. It took 1.5 days for the room to be cooled. During the first night we had to use the ceiling fan.
To top it all off, the room door can be opened from the outside if you just shake the handle abit!! Where's the security? Oh, there are no safe boxes there in the deluxe rooms so you have to bring all your valuables out with you.
I'm not sure how they earned their 4-star rating but if you're looking for a comfortable stress-free place to stay, this is not what you're looking for. The only good thing about the room is that it's big and spacious.

Langkasuka beach resort provides nice accomodation at reasonable price and OK location-not very far from the airport. If one is looking for proximity to the Bazaar area, this is not the place. Room service is excellant and the housekeeping is commendable. They claim to be a 4 star hotel and one of the restaurant (Sunset Room Cafe) is quite popular amongst regular tourists. The deluxe rooms are quite big, and the bathrooms are very spacious, but no shower in the bath tub. Things I didnt like are -the Deluxe rooms do not come with a sea view, although they claim to be a beach side resort. The swimming pool is very shallow and often in the morning, it is full of leaves and twigs from nearby trees. Quite dirty. The morning breakfast is very monotonous-same food they serve everyday-no change in the menu.
Unique Quality: The Hotel is unique in the sense that they claim to be the only on in Langkawi with a private beach. The beach is clean but not a soul in sight. Good for those looking for solitude and meditation.

We were upgraded to a deluxe room or it could of been a suite. It was huge. A fridge, tv, 2 balcony's, table, living room area, large bedroom, and big bathroom. We only paid 200 Rm a night. It was very nice but run down a bit. But clean w/ cheap room service. They had service listed all over the place such as Seafood Restaurant and pool bar that were just non-existent. We found out why later. It is a popular place for muslim families. There were only a handful of us that were't muslim. They had a family night that looked pretty cultish from our view from the ocean, drinking wine and floating around. No one was on the beach both nights. They have a little Hawker cooking area every night by the pool that is fine for a snack. I would leave for dinner next time. We ordered room service and it was a 2 on a 5 scale. Nice people and peaceful. Not close to anything within walking distance. Peak season still felt like it was off season due to the empty restaurants and bars.
Unique Quality: Beach was deserted at night. Nice staff and decent location.

What impress me most is the size of the beds! They are huge! The room is fine.
They got a nice beach where one can play soccer and vollyball in the sand.
There is a swimming pool where local people swim with their clothes on.
The breakfast is just so so for a 4-star hotel.
It's located 30 minutes away from city center. It's quiet at night. If you want a fancy bar you have to call a taxi and go to the downtown.

I think i can help a little here,it's depands on where do you want to stay. Either near to the beach or to the town area. Langkawi Seaview Hotel is near to town and as for Langkasuka Beach Resort is near to the airport and beach area. Pricing wise, Langkasuka (around RM200++ per night) will be a little more expensive than Seaview (around RM150-RM160 per night). But there are many food variety for you to choose from along the beach area. You should try the sea food here. There is one chinese restaurant in Kuah town by the name of " Wonderland" they serve awsome food. You should try out.
If you would like an exclusive home stay environment, I would like to recommend you a place at Cenang Beach area and it's call " Pondok Keladi" it's low density and nice environment. Pricing cost around RM150 per night.

Hi guys!
I'll be stayin in Langkasuka Resort for a few days, alone. Can sumone plz tell me, from Kuah, how do i get to Langkasuka Resort?
Is there any public transport? Or does tat resort provide transportation? If yes, do they charge us for tat service?

I took a van from the Jetty to Pantai Tengah and it wasabout RM16 in April 2004 per one van. But if you manage to share the van you can split the fares. Because I shared with another fellow whos going to town (RM4) I only paid another RM12 for the rest of the trip.
Langkasuka Resort is not very far from Pantai Cenang and Pantai Tengah. At most they will charge you RM18 or RM20 per one van. Like I said, try wait a while and share the van or car with other tourists. The fare of van and car is just the same.

You can always get a taxi or a van to go to the resort. It's not far from the airport. Resorts usually can arrange transport for you but you have to call them a few days prior. This will cost you about RM 20 ~ 40 per way.
By the way, I read some reviews regarding this hotel and they were not that good. Even though it's near the beach, you can't swim in it. And they say the service is quite bad.
Have you check some other hotels beside Langkasuka?
Anyway I will be going to Langkawi too (Early July). Have fun there!!!

I and my family are also planning to visit Langkawi in second week of July and will be staying in Langkasuka Beach resort for 4 days. I opted for Langkasuka Beach resort on the recommendation of one of my friend who was there three weeks earlier. Langkasuka Beach resort is quite good in its class, only thing you may not like is that they dont offer independant chalets. It is a 3 storey building, so it might seem you are staying in a city, not in a beach resort. But service and ambiance in quite good. They also have a private beach, as they claim. Even the restaurants are praiseworthy. I will advice against requesting Langkasuka Beach resort for arranging the transportation form Kuah Jetty to the Hotel. They will charge you much more. Just get down at the jetty and hire a cab. If you take a cab from Kuah Jetty to Langkasuka Beach resort , it may cost you around RM 16-20. Langkawi doesnt have a good Public Transport system. But, I'll say, there is no need for it. Roads are excellant, there is virtually no traffic on the road and all the sightseeing spots are easily accessible by road. If you drive, you may well hire a car for around RM 50 per day (minimum). Do pass on some information if you have something to share.
