Semarak Langkawi Beach Resort
Probably not the best place to stay in Cenang beach. The old, wooden chalets are very dark inside - dark wood, small windows and low wattage light bulbs. I felt quite claustrophobic.
There are no mosquito screens so windows need to be kept closed. There is no A/C in the 70 Ringgit rooms. Rooms with A/C cost 120 Ringgits. Consequently the rooms get hot in the 70 Ringgit chalets. At AB Motel you can get an A/C room for 60 Ringgits.
There was quite a big problem with mosquitoes due to large gaps around the windows and doors but the hotel provide coils to use at night. If you stay here you may need to invest in a mosquito net.
