Sunset Beach Resort amasing resort shame about the island.

The welcome was kind genuine, friendly and warm. Over all incredible service. The accommodation was lovely clean and spacious rooms. The island itself however was to be honest disappointing, the litter and damage to the environment is evident, and it’s such a shame to see the beautiful jungle and beach strewn with litter. Myself and my partner felt that the island as a whole had obviously bee developed as a tourist destination back in the early nineties and had be derogating ever since, a lot of the attractions were tatty and littered, the seven well water fall is a prime example. We walked along the concreted walk ways that had bee made to look like wood stepping over fast food wrapper and to our disgust a few dirty nappies.
I actually cried when I saw a rotting carcass of a beautiful sea eagle that had died by fling in to a metal grill that covered what was supposedly a barbecue …. It was so upsetting that we both couldn’t wait to get back to the peace and tranquillity of the Resort.
Breakfast is a lovely continental spread although it can get a little repetitive.
There are sun lounges around the private beach area and also an outside massage area which is well worth the nominal charge. The Resort is wonderful it’s just a real shame that it is in Langkawi
Sparkling clean with friendly staff

Paradise found!
This resort is sparkling clean and rooms are very well maintained. The rate is also excellent for the quality of the accommodation. The beach area directly in front of the resort is small, however, the beach to the south was not really utilized and thus was fairly quiet. There is a rock outcropping just north of the resort which divides this area of the beach from that north of here. This is the much quieter side although occasionally the water sport activities would end up coming this far south.
The breakfast is fairly simple but good and includes eggs cooked the way you like, a fruit plate and toast, cereal, juice and coffee. There is no restaurant on the property itself, however it is only a 10 minute walk south to two lovely restaurants (Malay and seafood) owned by the company.
The staff is unbelievable friendly and the eating options in the area are cheap and delicious.
wonderful and totally relaxing

We just returned from Langkawi where my husband had a conference. We took a few days off and stayed at the Sunset Beach. We both loved it. It was completely relaxing and the price was phenomenal. The Tripadvisor reviews (both good and bad) gave me a very good idea of what to expect. We stayed in both Sunset 1 and 3. Sunset 3 was adequate, but small. Sunset 1 was lovely. If at all possible, I would advise staying in Sunset 1 or 2. The women at the front desk were extremely pleasant. Langkawi is too far from the US to make it a reasonable destination, but if I am ever in Malaysia again (and I hope to be) I would certainly go back to Langkawi and stay at the Sunset Beach resort.
