Does anyone know of decent villas near the beach and close to other amenities. We need something that will sleep 6-7 people. Thanks for your help.
u can ask mr adhi for 7-8 person at White lodges he have a nice room and clean, i stay at white lodges for 2 night and recommended

I'll encourage anyone who is visiting Langkawi for the first time to try the cable car.
The single most perfect moment in my trip occured during my cable ride.
I saw 2 sea eagles circling the balmy blue skies and felt so free and happy. Hmm... the sleepy blue seas and skies, the lazy "island" feeling where time is non-existent, etc etc
Bring enough memory cards as there are lot of beautiful things to capture specially if you are into photography. There is a Microwave Oven in the Holiday Villa. You can bring your own ingredients to make your own coffee.
There are many operators that runs water sport activities almost at all over the famous beaches in Langkawi. You might not want to miss the fun of the activities offered by them. Generally the price is as follows :-
1) Jet Ski - RM110 for 30 minutes
2) Parasailing - RM80 per person
3) Banana Boat - RM25 per person
4) Water Ski - RM65 for 15 minutes
5) Island Hopping - RM35 per person
6) Payar Island (SCUBA or Snorkel) - start from RM130 to RM250
7) Fishing (Trolling) - RM350
8) Mangrove Trip (from Pantai Tengah) - RM160 per adult and RM80 per child below 8 years old
If you enlarge this picture you can just about see an eagle swooping down to feed. The tour operators here organise eagle feeding trips where they take you out to the mangroves by boat and throw fish into the sea so that the eagles come down to feed.
I like seeing wildlife up close but have reservations about this kind of thing. Anything that causes animals or birds to change their natural behaviour can cause problems, both to the animal concerned and to humans.
Makam Mahsuri is a must destination spot for tourist who visited Langkawi. Once you are inside the compound, the stall is just very near to Mahsuri's Well. Local snack called "Kueh Peneram" is freshly made here and it is the most delicious "Peneram" that I ever had since this snack is also widely being sold all over the Peninsular Malaysia.
It looks like a doughnut but black in color. I think the ingredients are just flour and sugar. The snack is being fried freshly and you can had it while its hot. I recommend this snack to all visitor who visit Makam Mahsuri whether you are a local or foreigner.
Everytime I visited Mahsuri Tomb, I will never miss to buy a packet just to eat it while its hot and few packets to bring it home. RM2.00 per packet
