As a 4 star hotel, the rooms are equiped with facilities such as air-conditioned, telephone, television (with in-house movies), hairdryer, personal safe and tea/coffee making facility. However, the furnishings look old and outdated. The hotel is also equipped with the largest ballroom in the city and other amenities such as Business Center service, gymnasium, sauna, swimming/wading pool and 3 dining outlets (local/international all day dining, Chinese restaurant and bar/lounge).

KB Inn is one of the nicest places ive stayed. On the outside its not much to look at, the accomadation is basic but the rooms are clean, the owners very friendly and hospitable, and will treat you like one of the family if you give them respect as well. When i stayed my friend and i (due to our speaking a little malay) were invited out for the day with the family on numerious occasions.
They have a communal area where you can meet fellow travellers and also relax in the evening with VCD's and the television.
Light breakfast is also available should you want it. My family of 5 stayed there both coming and going through Kota Bharu on our way to Perhentian Island. Mr. Lee went far, far out of his way to accommodate our needs, at all hours, including finding dinner for us, taking us out in a storm to get some things for the kids, walking us thru the airport ensuring that we found our way, handling any other questions or concerns. We are very impressed of the personalised serviced provided by Mr.Lee the owner of the ethe Guesthouse., I personally felt obliged to provide these comments on a couple of travel websites.
The guest house is large and spacious, with 5 bedrooms,livingrom and a kitchen as well. It's not fancy (you can see photos at http://www.worldisround.com/articles/188057/index.html) but it is basic and comfortable, secure and clean. We have three kids under 10, so those are our priorties anyway. There is a TV and DVD player to pass some down time, and the house is in a nice neighborhood with a small park just down the road.
Price for the whole house was RM230 per night, We made the reservation of the guesthouse over the internet. If we find ourselves in this city again, we'll be staying at the same place.

Mr.Lee also provide a pickup/dropoff at the airport / train /bus station to /from the guesthouse .In addition he also provvide the transport services to / from guesthouse to the Kuala Besut for the guests who are travelling to Perhentian / Redang Island. We only stayed here because we couldn't get rooms anywhere else in KB as it was a bit beyond our planned budget but it was a fantastic kingsize room with luxurious bathroom and great facilities. At around RM225 I would consider it good value.
The breakfast was a little disappointing though, suffering as many buffets do, from food sitting around and drying out a little.

The Renaissance is the top hotel in Kota Bharu, and is fully up to Western standards for a business/quality hotel. Large, comfortable rooms, a good restaurant, and friendly, attentive service. The outdoor pool was a very welcome relief from the summer heat.
