 | Melaka A'Famosa Resort Hotel Melaka Reviews | 1 - 9 of 9 | |
Recently, local Malaysian newspapers highlighted the plight of Amid, a malnourished elephant calf which was believed to be captured and sold to A Famosa Resort. Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) enforcement director Misliah Mohamad Basir revealed that the resort did not have a permit to keep Amid. The calf was inadequately cared for, did not have enough to eat and was improperly tied up. When confiscated, Amid was a heart-wrenching sight with his vertabrae jutting out and the clear outline of his ribcage showing under his hide. 2 years ago, the same resort was found to have illegally acquired 6 Sumatran orang utans. The orang utans were forced to wear clothes and perform shows for the amusement of tourists. The primates were later seized by enforcement officers and returned to Sumatra early 2006. I believe we should boycott and not visit or stay at this resort, which has been found to abuse and exploit wild animals. Theme: HotelPhone: 60321637307

 | A'Famosa Resort Hotel Melaka: A Resort with Your own Swimming Pool

The Exterior of the Bungalow by Aidy_p If you're in Melaka and you're with both your family and extended family, the A'Famosa Resort is one place that you can consider booking. However, the resort is no where near the Melaka Town (It takes 30 minutes to get to town), but what it promises you is a nice and undisturbed location where you can really just relax.
We booked the Bungalow unit that came with four bedrooms. These bungalows come with their own swimming pools, which we so gladly use. You can choose the bungalow with either three, four or five bedrooms. But if you're looking for a resort with top-class amenities, then this is not the place you should be. Though there is a swimming pool, it is not totally clean. Leaves and small insects beset the pool. The first thing you'd need to do is to get the front desk to get the pool cleared up. Also, the rooms and toilets are not world class. So if you can bear with average facilities, this bungalow is still an ok place to stay. The sheltered carpark can only take in two cars, which was ok as my family travelled in two cars.
