Valur for Money

I stayed at this hotel few days ago. Personally think that this hotel is worth for money. I stay Deluxe Double room for just RM 92, king size bed, I really felt comfortable with it. The room are spacious, the staffs are friendly and have a great sea view as it is just in front of the beach. A very convenience location, restaurants and shopping mall are just nearby. I stongly recommend this hotel to those who wants to visit melaka.

Unique Quality: Spacious rooms, Friendly staffs, Free parking, Great sea view

Day trip to Melaka from KL

by Pinaks

Hi,
Is it possible to go to Melaka in the morning, visit throughout the day & catch an evening flight (@ 19.30 hrs) from LCCT ? I'm aware of bus services like Transnational etc. - but is that workable or taxi would be a better option ? If the latter, what could be the appx. cost for the whole day (KL - Melaka - LCCT) ?
any input is appreciated.
thanx

Day trip to Melaka from KL

by kentut_besar

Lets see, your evening flight @ LCCT is at 1930 hrs, meaning you need to check in by 1830 hrs, & it takes an hour by bus from KL KL Sentral to LCCT terminal, excluding traffic jam, so better aim to leave KL Sentral by 1700 hrs.

I don't know what time you plan to be in Malacca, but you need to leave there by 1430 hrs, in order to be at KL Sentral by 1700 hrs.

So you'll have 3.5 hrs in Malacca at the most, & you'll hardly get to see anything.

I suggest you go to Malacca the day before, in the morning, stay the night there, & then leave Malacca around 1400 hrs (after lunch) so that you can be @ KL Sentral by 1700 hrs, & LCCT by 1830 hrs.

That way, you'll have ample time to see Malacca & stll make your flight out of KL.

Hope this helps, cheers.

Travel Tips for Melaka

Cultural diversity

by DanielF

Like most places in Malaysia, different communities and cultures live next to each other: Chinese, Malay, Indians... Given the importance of its port on the mouth of a river that dominates the Straits, Melacca has also been home of European colonialists for many centuries. Their presence is still perceptible in many parts of the city.

Beautiful Malay village

by Audrey118

This is a very unqiue view taken from the hotel above - it is such a pretty view of the Malay village (kampong ) and it is located at the end of Jalan Bunga Raya. So unique to me is the harmonius rooftop - similar patterns and colour. You can walk across to the kampung via the bridge.

Just in case you get lost

by Designerartgirl

Well im not entirely sure whether to put this as a tip or not, but i found it rather amusing. A signboard showing you how far and in what direction places such as London and Lisbon were from Melaka. It proved to be a bit of a giggle really... especially when made to look like these cities are only around the corner.

The opposite of the fort wall

by bpacker

Here's the view of Porta de Santiago from the back. Like the front, the insignia of the Dutch company, VOC is stamped somewhere on the stone relief. Can you see where it is?

VOC was a powerful Dutch trading company in the 1600's. So powerful was VOC that she was granted a monopoly of trading in the east and allowed to wage wars with foreign princes!

TESCO

by imstress about TESCO

TESCO supermarket is the main tentant with many other restaurants and a food court in this building.

Ample free parking lots and is located opposite the New Sentral Bus Station.

Go check out the San Su Gong pastry shop which sells the delicious Lau Po Bing (wife's cake).

My mother IL brought few boxes back as gifts.
