Melaka Theme? (I don't think so)
by muddybok
Since Melaka is such a historical city and food heaven, the demands for visiting tourists to Melaka to bring back something is always there. In short, I am going to list out some of the things you should buy from Melaka because of the uniqueness of the city.
The wooden clogs (are high on aunties' list), Cencaluk (fermented shrimp), Aik Cheong Coffee, paintings and postcards of Melaka, Orang Utan t-shirts, and some old antiques from collectors' boutiques should be considered.
There are at most 2 shops that selling some low quality Balinese landscaping items and I don't think you should waste your precious time/money buying them and better get yourself an oil change session at Hoe Kee/Chong Wah chicken rice stores.

Wishing Well
by sha08ron
Locals believed that water from this wishing well brings wealth. Many goes there to fetch well water to clean car plates, main gate etc to pray that they will strike lottery! Go try! But be mindful not to dip your mobile phone into the water hoping that the number will strike! :)
12 cubicle were built next to the well, each representing the chinese horoscopes, for people to take a quick bath with the water.
Tourist Got Suck
by yeikloen about Tan Kim Hock
This is definately the shop being visited by almost every visitor to Melaka....!!! Why because they sell all the Malaccan speciality from Cincalok, to Durian Dodol to even instant Bak Kut Teh or Curry powder. The Coconut Sweet is pretty okay, cost about RM3.80 for 200gm. But overall the price are quite pricey.
Never ever eat the cendol, cost too much, RM3.00 for a bowl... see my Cendol food recommendation on Cendol.
Pasar Maalam (Night - Market)
by bpacker about The Night Bazaar at Jonker Street
Come every weekend, the narrow, twisted streets at Jonker closes to traffic and hawkers on pushcarts gather to sell all kinds of delicious street food and local items. In the meantime, the shops at Jonker Walk also bustles with life. You can hear strains of karaoke at the clan associations mingling with the sound of funeral rites performed just a couple of streets away. This is the heartbeat of Melaka and the very place you should be if you're here..
