    Ayer Keroh - Kings Hotel

    by

This 3* hotel provides rather basis facilities with the superior rooms housing 3 pax... the affordable room rate comes with 2 american breakfast... The hotel is situated midway between the Ayer Keroh attractions and Melaka city and is a good location to explore the touristic sites...

Unique Quality: The hotel caters mainly for families and there are separate hotel and apartment blocks...

Directions: The hotel is on the main Lebuhraya Ayer Keroh from the toll plaza to Melaka city... It is about 7km from the toll plaza on the left side directly opposite the Pantai Medical Centre..

Are these locations far from Melaka's (Malacca's) town?

I will be staying at Aldy Hotel.

Zoo, crocodile farm, butterfly farm are worth visiting with kids but they are well out of town and you may need to take a taxi (with kids) to visit them.

Better hire a taxi for a day and you can visit all those three places in a day, since they are located near each other.

A'famosa is an old historical site but it is near Aldy. Other historical sites are near & in front of Aldy: Melaka Church, Stadthuys, St Paul Church, Portuguese galleon. Visit A'famosa and climb St Paul near A'famosa, to go down at the other side.

I am not sure if you will be driving.
The attractions are just after the Ayer Keroh exit from the Highway less then 5km.
Aldy Hotel is in Malacca town itself about 20+km away.
If you are planning to visit the Zoo and all I would advise to start early.
You should be able to at least visit the ZOO and butterfly thingy by late afternoon (depends how long you stay at each).
During weekends evenings the road back to town can be very congested. It may take you 30mins or more to get back to town from the attractions during these times.

The A-famosa? or the A famosa resort? A famosa is fun if you take a trishaw to get there. Take the children to the ship museum as well. it's fun to just get on the ship.

The resort however is futher away, I personally find it interesting to go on 'the Safari' at the resort - it's like a combination of zoo and crocodile farm and bird park.

Travel Tips for Melaka

A'Famosa Golf Resort

by chiabh

The golf course comprises three distint nines that all play to a par-36... They play to varying degrees of difficulty... The Rocky Nine has an abudance of boulers outcrops... Playing to 3216m from the black tees, some of the holes are located along the NS Hiway... Playng to 3220m, the Palm Nine is peppered with tress along its fairways... The shortest of the nine is the Crocodile Nine at 3156m and plays towards the Waterworld Park... Golfers must be aware of real crocodiles on hole #7... The clubhouse has the noraml men and ladies changing room... It has a pro-shop... For F&B there is the Golfer’s Terrace and Bonus Café... Besides these, it has a business centre and an extensive range of conference and banquet facilities for both corporate and social events.

Another Quirky Bee Ad..

by bpacker

Other than going for an itchy facial, you can also lose tons of weight if you let thousands of bees dance on you while you sit still. Convinced? Haha, I got you again! This is another quirky ad from the bee museum. Nope, they don't do weight loss programmes, they only sell good-quality honey and show quirky exhibits of bees from all over the world.

Batik T shirts and Prints

by Audrey118 about Umyang Batik Art Gallery

I have close attachment with this shop. It is runned by a Korean lady who has married a Malaysian friend whi is a batik artist. The quality of the T shirt here is good, and you need not fear for the colour to run. The prices are slightly higher than your normal T shirts becos they are individually painted. She also sells some nicknacks from Korea which her mother sends to her to supplement their income. Very nice couple which we love to chat and look forward to in each of our visit to Melaka. T shirts and you can custom make prints and cushion covers out of designs you see there about 40 -45 ringgit for a T shirt.

The caucasian cafe?

by blue_b about Geographer cafe

The cafe is quite nicely done up with cooler fans on the outside so that sitting on the outside will not be warm at all. Taking a glance at the menu, it sells a wide spread of american food from burgers to steaks. Anything goes, slippers as well! Just don't look like a beggar and u're in!
