The worst I've seen
We checked in to the hotel late in the evening after visiting our relatives on our arrival from Singapore on the 10 September 2010. It was a tiring day, we were told that the room which would be given to us was partially hidden by a wall and were given a discount. We were tired so we did'nt care we thought if the place was good maybe we extend for another night.
The room is alright with no fridge. The tiles was dirty like it had never been clean for years. The bathroom shower was not in good working order. The toilet bowl was filthy and the flooring was covered in black dirt.
Breakfast was nothing much. When we came down for breakfast I found that was no more butter and jam spread and the chef at the egg section was missing apparently busy in the kitchen. It was apparent that they were shorthanded.
It did not take us long. We went up to the room to pack and left. We never want to go back there again.

Accommodation in Malacca
Myself, my husband and our 3 children are all travelling to Singapore on 17 Dec 2004. We are then planning on going to Malacca for 9 nights and then flying the kids back home from Singapore.
Does anyone have any suggestions for beach / chalet accommodation in Malacca suitable for all of us.
We have been looking at the Klebang Beach Resort?? Shaa's beach resort is booked out. We have also looked at the Garden City Apartments as an alternative.
Also - after the kids fly back we have 4 weeks by ourselve to travel about. We were thinking of basing most of our time in Malaysia. Any suggestions??

Hi!
Personally I think 9 nites in Melaka is too long time to spend in the historical city - even if you plan just to laze araound at the beach as Melaka's beach is not that spectacular. You should go a lil bit further north to Port Dickson for better beach. As for hotel, try Riviera Bay Resort in Melaka thats located along the Klebang beach area. You can also try Century Mahkota hotel/apartment in Bandar Hilir where Garden City is also located.
as for places to travel around Malaysia, I would suggest KL (with the kids if possible), Cameron Highlands, Penang & Langkawi.

yes... reviera bay resort is nice... they have 1, 2 and 3 room apartments and they are big and spacious..i would agree with onioln that 9 days for melaka is rather too long as melaka has terrible beach... including the one at reviera bay...
guoman hotel in port dickson is nice but the beach is nothing to shout about... you should go to klumpur... or pangkor, penang or langkawi for better beach resort as the good beaches in the east coast of the country is closed for the monsoon period..
cameron highlands or even frasers' hill for hill resorts..
however, bear in mind that dec 17 is peak traveling season and you have top book your hotels early as most will be fully booked for the xmas festive season...

Cheers thanks for that info. We have now decided to spend half the time in penang. Beaches look pretty good there.
