    Good location, across the road from Mahkota Parade shopping center, walking distance to all the sights of Malacca.

    This place is more of a service apartment rather than a hotel. Almost every room over here comes complete with a kitchenette and a nice living room complete with TV. But other than that, there is nothing special about this place as the rooms are rather run down! The only plus points of staying here, I suppose, are the cheap cost and the location. It's near the sprawling mall and the Dutch square.

    Request for a room facing the waterfront when you're here and book in advance. This place is popular with comfort-lovin' Singaporeans. A buffet breakfast comes with every room but the food quality is only so-so and overcrowded with screaming kids.

    The most popular choice hotel to stay in downtown Melaka is Century Mahkota Hotel.

    It is ideally located just oppsite the Mahkota Parade.

    It has a beautiful swimming pool and a beautiful landscape.

    • Century Mahkota has service apartments starting from RM230 for a one bed room apartment...

    The only complaint I had was the water temperature in the bathroom was kinda low, so, it took us sometime to actually get off bathroom..Called up the management but nothing was done as they needed a plumber to rectify the matter...Guess the plumber was away on a holiday... :) nevertheless, we all managed to take our baths, smelling good the entire time there... :)

    The single room came with a tv set, sofa, balcony, queen size bed, a small kitchen with refridgerator and a kettle to boil water..

    Our room faced the swimming pool...

    • Mahkota parade is just next to this hotel. The price is quite reasonable and its suitable for family trip as they have at least 2 bed rooms apartment. Place is clean and safe.

    • Why not try Century Mahkota Hotel. It was an apartment converted into a hotel and they have one or two bedroom with receiving room & kitchen/dining. It is not on the central part of the city, though but beside the Strait of Malacca, near the mouth of Malacca river, walking distance to tourist spots and malls.

    • My family and I stayed n this hotel somewhere in June 2004. we booked junior suite as
    other hotel rooms are fully booked. It is a 2 bedroom suite which can accomodate 4 person or 6 persons - for other two person you got to get extra bed. It has a small kitchen where you can find fridge and tea coffee making facilities. It has a table for 4 for you to have your meal together. The service was good. The breakfast was nice, many choices. If you come during peak season, you have to go breakfast as early as 7 am or you have to queue up for a long time.

    Mahkota Parade shopping centre is just across the road. Across the Mahkota Parade , about 10 min walking, you can visit some historical places like A Famosa, etc. You also can take a ride by trishaw to other historical places within the area.

    Great pools, near historical places, have many room types as well as apartment, parking lots, near Melaka Mahkota medical centre, near shophouses.

    This hotel is in town and is near one of the most happening nightspots in Melaka. Besides that, it is also just opposite the street from the best shopping center here. The pier is just nearby and i heard there is a nice restaurant there that is in a boat.

    Nearby is also a hospital where you can go to during emergencies.

    This is the most popular hotel in Melaka, so book well in advance during peak seasons.

    This hotel (now re-named Makohta Hotel) is situated right next to the Makohta Shopping Mall, very convenient for your shopping needs. The location is also great for visiting the Dutch Square, Stadhuy's etc on foot.

    The hotel rooms are actually small apartments, each with its own living room and kitchen. I stayed in an apartment with two bedrooms (that means four persons can stay in one apartment). It is also equipped with two bathrooms.

    The hotel has the facilities you will expect to find - swimming pool, restaurants, conference rooms etc. Our booking is inclusive of breakfast, which was quite alright.

    The downside is the fact that the hotel and the rooms look a bit old and tired. Amenities could have been better maintained.
