Hotel with a great seaside view
Mohkota is near to Mahkota Parade and the main tourist attractions. Plus its near the seaside, with a great sea view.

Century Mahkota Hotel
Why not try Century Mahkota Hotel. It was an apartment converted into a hotel and they have one or two bedroom with receiving room & kitchen/dining. It is not on the central part of the city, though but beside the Strait of Malacca, near the mouth of Malacca river, walking distance to tourist spots and malls.
Unique Quality: Hotel in apartment setting, pools, tennis court, view of Strait of Malacca low tide.

More of a Serviced- Aparment
Mahkota Hotel Melaka is great value for money as it is more of a serviced-apartment rather than a hotel room. Therefore, you can squeeze in more people into one unit than you would a hotel room.
Located on the waterfront, Mahkota Hotel Melaka is adjacent to Mahkota Parade, the city's main shopping and entertainment complex and within very short walking distance to the various historical places of interest as well as the commercial hub of Melaka.
The hotel has a shuttle service to the nearby Tiara Golf and Country Club. Guests can also make use of the free shuttle service that is within city limits.
Unique Quality: I don't know whether this is unique but the hotel's special attraction on weekends and public holidays is the special appearance by the hotel's resident clowns Chiko and Kiko who performs at the hotel's lobby.

Popular Apartment type hotel with Singaporeans
Very apartment like. Just lower your expectations for a 4-star hotel, and you will enjoy your stay here.
Good point is, it is very near to Mahkota Parade, so you can shop or catch a late night movie there and not be worried about getting back to your hotel safely.
That was what we did, we watched a midnight movie (Fantastic 4) with 6 children, and after the movie, we just walked back to the hotel without any problems at all.

That's it.
The location of the hotel is ok. It is more like a resort and is suitable for children. They have the necessary facilities such as pools, a mini store, massage spa and many car park lots if you drive there. The compound is spacious. The room I stayed faces the sea. It has a small kitchen attached to the hall but without microwave oven. You need to bring your own kettle. Generally, the hotel staff were helpful and nice. Just across the road, is the biggest shopping centre of the city, the Mahkota Parade. On the left side of the shopping is a local food centre. With a map, within walking distance, you will reach most of the major attractions such as Christ Church, the museums, the Fort etc. And across the bridge of the river Jonker Street.

Mahkota Hotel
Mahkota parade is just next to this hotel. The price is quite reasonable and its suitable for family trip as they have at least 2 bed rooms apartment. Place is clean and safe.

Great for families on a budget
This hotel (now re-named Makohta Hotel) is situated right next to the Makohta Shopping Mall, very convenient for your shopping needs. The location is also great for visiting the Dutch Square, Stadhuy's etc on foot.
The hotel rooms are actually small apartments, each with its own living room and kitchen. I stayed in an apartment with two bedrooms (that means four persons can stay in one apartment). It is also equipped with two bathrooms.
The hotel has the facilities you will expect to find - swimming pool, restaurants, conference rooms etc. Our booking is inclusive of breakfast, which was quite alright.
The downside is the fact that the hotel and the rooms look a bit old and tired. Amenities could have been better maintained.

No 1 choice for Melaka hotel
My family and I stayed n this hotel somewhere in June 2004. we booked junior suite as
other hotel rooms are fully booked. It is a 2 bedroom suite which can accomodate 4 person or 6 persons - for other two person you got to get extra bed. It has a small kitchen where you can find fridge and tea coffee making facilities. It has a table for 4 for you to have your meal together. The service was good. The breakfast was nice, many choices. If you come during peak season, you have to go breakfast as early as 7 am or you have to queue up for a long time.
Mahkota Parade shopping centre is just across the road. Across the Mahkota Parade , about 10 min walking, you can visit some historical places like A Famosa, etc. You also can take a ride by trishaw to other historical places within the area.
Unique Quality: Great pools, near historical places, have many room types as well as apartment, parking lots, near Melaka Mahkota medical centre, near shophouses.

The most popular choice hotel to stay in downtown Melaka is Century Mahkota Hotel.
It is ideally located just oppsite the Mahkota Parade.
It has a beautiful swimming pool and a beautiful landscape.

Hi
I'm going to be in Malaysia from March 2009-May 2009. Would anyone have a condo to rent in Melaka for 1 month (either of the 3 months is OK) Something under 700 MR near the central core of town; size would be about 1-2 bedroom Thanks.
