Shazan Inn: The Moderately Priced Inn

During our time here, we met a botanist who stayed here. It looked like a respectable joint that offered a twin-share bedroom for RM100 ( with breakfast ). Maybe I'll stay here the next time since it's so near town!

Puncak Inn: The cheap and convenient joint

If you're looking for convenience and want to stay smack in the centre of the town, Puncak Inn should be your choice. This joint has rooms for RM55 nett for the budget traveller. There are a couple of restaurants and souvenir shops at its ground level but be forewarned..nothing here is edible!

We had our first meal at the Nasi Padang shop over there and the food really tasted bad. If you're staying at this inn, you'll have better luck walking to the eatery (Kheng Yuen Lee Restaurant) that serves a decent curry laksa along Jalan genting or the Strawberry cafe (MIMI Taman Strawberi Kafe) opposite the mosque.

Fraser's Pine Resort: A Generic Family Hotel

My group stayed in this generic family joint and though we saw lots of birds over here, we can't say that this place is like the ritz. This was what grated our tender nerves:

1)Crowds! This joint is extremely popular with local companies doing their annual retreats and clan associations doing their annual karaoke queen contest.

2)The rooms, though clean, have seen better days with their musty carpets and curtains. One of the loos we had had loose piping for hot water so we scalded our asses while bathing.

3) This resort was a tad far from town

Despite all these pitfalls, it is alright to stay at this place if you're part of a big group looking for a reasonably-priced place to crash in. We paid just Rm500 for a 3 bed room suite a night. The restaurant serves Chinese food that is edible.

Old hotel: Old hotel

Old hotel is a rest house somewhere at Fraser's hill, there are quite many hotels here actually, the hotels were old, probbaly built during the colonial days. I don't have to pay for the hotel when I came here, it was a compay trip many years ago, I guessed the room is around RM100.00
