At the end of your journey, you can visit the local markets / government fisheries market to buy some fresh seafood. Market traders will help you to pack some ice bags to keep your seafood cool & fresh.

We went camping here twice and it’s simply beautiful. It takes an hour or two depends on how fast you walk to this fall or to the last fall. There are many small pools of water and most just camp at these pools.

It’s located on the old road right after Gambang.

Kuil Sri Mariamman Kuantan

Kuantan is definitely a hub of cultural diversity, as is most of Malaysia. In specific, Kuantan is home to a Hindu temple, which is located in the middle of the city.

Kuil Sri Mariamman Kuantan is a small Hindu temple which has very intriquite painted idols to their Gods.

One of my favorite items in this temple was actually the rain gutters, which were both a tiger head and an elephant trunk. Due to the weather on the day that we went, we were fortunate enough to see these gutters in action, and a elephant trunk even sprayed me!

Sungai Lembing

Do visit the Sungai Lembing Museum and see the glory days as Pahang’s richest manufacturer of tin, before the drop in the price of that commodity in 1984.

"A quick introduction"

Kuantan is a small fishing village and town located on the east coast of Malaysia in the province of Pahang. It has a decent dock facility, as well as a prime location in between Singapore and Bangkok, which allowed P&O Cruises to choose it as a location to stop on our 7 day cruise.

What really interested me the most about Kuantan was the large diversity of cultures. During my journey, I visited a Muslim Mosque, Hindu temple, and also a small fishing village... all different, yet all Kuantan.... join me!
