Deluxe Chalet on the Beach
The Deluxe Chalet we stayed in overlooked the best bit of the beach with a nice view of rock island. The tide was high of a morning and really low late afternoon which enabled us to get really nice shots overlooking the beach and rock island.
The Chalet can fit up to 6 people, but 4 is a good number. We had a nice big king size bed that was very comfortable and the kids had the loft. My friend Paula had a Superior Chalet up at the other end of the beach.
All accommodation is close to the resort facilities.
We booked and paid for our accommodation directly through the site below. They were very professional and prompt with the booking.

Paya Beach Resort - Best and Economical
I feel Paya Beach Resort is a very good one and too economic as well. The chalets were beautiful and very well planned. I felt like staying in my home rather than a hotel. I liked the private balcony very much from where you can see the Beach at one side and Mountain at the other. The chalets were only 50 meters max from the beach. I stayed in Executive Chalet. The rooms were clean with a Queen size bed, double pull-out sofa bed, water heating jug and a TV. The Food was great but a bit expensive.
The things that I didn't like was the shower top was slightly broken but usable and there is not room service/cleaning service. I think this was negligible.
Unique Quality: It has got Spa/Pool, Very good restaurant and Pub just on the beach, Rock Falls is near the hotel (you need to walk in to the jungle) and Beach was superb.

Quiet and peaceful
Tioman paya beach located at Paya beach Village, it is not exactly by the beach side but the nearest one to the waterfall. There is no swimming pool at the resort. They do have air-conditioning room, water heater and fan. There is one small gift shot at the main reception. you may rent snorkelling equipment at the resort as well. No TV in the room but they do have one at the restaurant area. They do have karaoke room as well.
Their staff are very helpful and friendly, if you travel alone there, the mager will asked one of their staff to accompany you to the beach and the waterfall.
If you wanted to go to the beach at a night time, they do have lamp on along the path to the beach, so no worry of the darkness.

Paya Beach Resort
I have never stayed here but I always get to walk past the resort on my way down to the beach from Tioman Paya Resort. It is older than the Tioman Paya Resort so more wear & tear are evident.
Unique Quality: You will have to check the website below for more details.

Nice Place to Relax
As most people stay at Salang Beach, Paya Beach is less known (which is a good thing). Paya Beach Resort is located Tanjong Gemok of Pulau Tioman. The entire place is very much nicer than those resorts at busy Salang Beach.
Standard Chalet : RM180 with breakfast.
Unique Quality: - Restaurant which serves nice food
- Dive Centre
- Swimming Pool
- Spa (But I don't think is in operation)
- Nice beach front
- Big rooms (Standard chalets or Deluxe chalets)
- A duty free shop (Tioman is a duty free island. Cheap liquor anyone?)

Paya Village Best Resort
My stays at this resort had been very pleasant because of the seclusion and friendly staffs but it wasn't the same anymore since it was upgraded. Things are more expensive. There are more new staffs and were less friendly.
Although they have most of the resort facilities including a spa and massage services but they are expensive. There is a swimming pool for those who are allergic to seawater but the water is not as clean as those in Singapore. There is a shabby karaoke room with no one singing. A changed dining restaurant with new settings, menus and prices.
There were many cats roaming around while we were having our meals. Do avoid public holidays and weekends because they charge 50 Singapore dollars extra per person for public holiday and 20 Singapore dollars per room for weekends.
Unique Quality: You can try discover scuba diving at their swimming pool just to have a feel before taking up scuba diving out at the open sea.
The beachfront seaview rooms are just a few steps from the beach. One can get a tan at their verandah without going to the beach.
All the rooms are air-conditioned with attached bathrooms. There is a TV in each room but with limited local channels. There were no TV programs at all during my last trip there.

rustic but clean
Very little staff at this resort...perhaps it was the time of year, but you can't help but appreciate the peace if you're a regular traveller. There was no one to tip, but food was good and on time. This is a great place for independant travellers wanting to get away from the city. The spa/pool was clean and right next to our hut, also right next to the restaurant.
Unique Quality: You can certainly see a great deal of aquatic and wildlife here in a very short time. There were no more than a couple of people on the beach at any time. No lineups at the buffet. The paths around the island were beautiful, and other than a monkey throwing a coconut, I felt very safe. There's very little need to carry cash. The spiders and water eels, and monitor lizards were larger than I needed to see, but part of the experience.
