Very nice and very friendly middle class hotel.

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)

I stayed on two occations at the Grand View Hotel in Ipoh and i was very satisfied.
One very good thing about it for me is that they have single rooms so i did not need to pay for a double as i often have to when travelling alone and the price they had for a single room was very resonable.
My room was small, but very functional and clean and this is what i am looking for.
The bathroom was nice and the air con worked perfect.
I had a room on the top floor which was very nice as it had a nice view of the town and the surrounding mountains.
The hotel also allowed me to take my bicycle to the room which i was very happy about.
The hotel also has a night club downstairs but i never went there.
It seemed quite popular though and always had people coming in and out of the place.
Be ware that it's a karaoke style nightclub.
During my stay there i had some problems with a blocked credit card that i got solved pretty easily, but when the night receptionist heard of my problems she offerd me to borrow me money out of her own pocket should i need it.
This is really a fantastic gesture i have never seen in any other hotel and it was very nice of her even if i did not need it.
So thumbs up to her and to the hotel in general for providing what i needed.

Directions: Right in the center of Ipoh.

Nothing much to this hotel. No pool and no restaurant. But for a budget it's quite apporpriate. The rooms a averagely comfortable.

Unique Quality: Nothing particular. Except it's in the middle of town.

A place to sleep ... and nothing else

They call the place a hotel but it is more like an Inn I think. There is no restaurant, pool or anything else in fact. The room can be really small but clean. Basically just a place to spend the night.

The staff at the reception counter is not that nice. Very serious and not friendly at all. However, the housekeeping staff did go out of their way to help us.

The location is not that bad. Its near Pizza Hut, KFC and other restaurants.

Best thing about this hotel is, i guess, the price. We had a standard twin for RM75 a night.
